Every human sweats. At some point, everyone will also have to deal with body odor. Often, both cause problems at the same time. For the most part these problems are only temporary and are easy to fix. However, for some people dealing with excessive sweating and body odor is an every day battle. The complications of these issues make life rough. Almost every day leads to some sort of embarrassment in the form of sweat stains, funky smells or any number of other problems that result when a person sweats too much. There are things you can do to control these problems, however. Use the following tips to get the upper hand in battling these problems.
Stay away from clothing that is made from synthetic materials. Polyester especially exacerbates those with body odor and excessive sweating issues. Because these fabrics tend to cling to your skin, meaning it can't breath. These clothes prevent air from reaching the skin, which causes the body to sweat more in an effort to cool itself down. Body odor can reach embarrassing levels when subjected to this excessive sweating. Synthetic fabric can be harder to clean which is another reason to avoid it. Stick to natural fibers and looser clothing. Leave the synthetics on the shelf and out of your closet. How much do you weigh? Some people would rather avoid this whole issue. There is no question, though, that being overweight can contribute to excessive sweating. It's simply a more strenuous task to get around when you are overweight. We aren't being judgmental by saying this. It's just the way things are. The higher your body weight, the more you must exert yourself when you do anything at all. So your excess weight indirectly causes you to sweat and have body odor by making you exert yourself more. Therefore, losing weight should be a priority for anyone suffering from body odor and sweating problems.
You may find this hard to believe, but vinegar is a very good way to manage body odor. Rub some white vinegar every day on any body areas that tend to sweat a lot, using a pad, cotton ball or towel. This will, of course, create a vinegar smell on you for a few minutes. After that smell goes away, however, you should notice that your other body odor issues have gone away (or at least gotten better). It seems like an old wives' tale but it really works! There aren't many remedies cheaper than vinegar, either!
Nobody likes to sweat. It is, however, for most people an uneventful and manageable part of their lives. Sweating and body odor, however, cause some people extreme personal and social discomfort. It's a good thing that excessive sweating and body odor can now be successfully treated in several ways. There are products available without a prescription to treat this condition. If none of these work for you, a doctor can help you figure out how to treat these conditions medicinally. You may have to do some research and experimenting, but it is possible to overcome this problem and live normally.
