Dental hygiene is incredibly necessary, as we all know. There is nothing more dazzling on the human body than a gorgeous set of pearly whites. If you wish your kids to own these pearly whites, though, you'll would like to get them on the right track as way as dental hygiene is concerned as early as possible. While you clearly cannot teach an infant or toddler correct hygiene, you'll truly begin teaching them these valuable ideas throughout preschool. Here are some preschool activities you can do for youngsters to teach them about dental care.
Match 'Em Up
Take construction paper and cut out basic shapes representing dental care, such as a tooth, a toothbrush, a sparkle (essentially a star style), and any other object you'll need to include. Then, place the items in a pile and let your kids decide out the proper items and put them in the right order. As an example, you'll be able to have a paper tube of toothpaste that they'd decide and "use" on the toothbrush. They will then brush the tooth with the toothbrush. When they are finished, congratulate them, tell them that the tooth is "clean", and place the flicker on it to show them. This can be a good hands-on activity to introduce them to dental care.
Write a Story
Take some construction paper and perhaps a scrapbook and build a story about dental care to show your children. Use basic shapes and tons of color to stay your kids interest, and tell the story in an partaking manner while encouraging them to participate. For example, you can make the most character a tooth and have him travel with his friends (a toothbrush, floss, etc.).
Charades
Gather the preschool cluster around and tell them that they're going to learn about teeth. Then, do charades that represent the steps of brushing the teeth. You'll start off by saying something like, "Everybody point to their teeth!" They will then point to their teeth. Then, pretend you are picking up a toothbrush and obtain them to try and do the same. Then, apply toothpaste and "brush" your teeth. They will follow along and get into the method (and keep entertained throughout).
These are simply some samples of activities you can use to show your preschool kids regarding dental care. The limit is really on your own imagination. Simply understand that preschool kids, on a whole, are old enough to start out learning about dental care and therefore the responsibility that comes with it, even if they'll not be recent enough to do it on their own. Good luck!
