When it comes to framing selections these can easily transform an inexpensive print or poster into something which appears to be an expensive art work. Always consider antiqued gold finished frames and wooden frames in cherry, ebony walnut, and mahogany for sepia prints. Traditional paintings including portraits and landscapes generally look best with fabric liners and ornate mouldings. Every time you deal with contemporary paintings go for simple frames without liners.

Ornate wood frames remain popular because they work well with antique furnishings and reproductions. Opulence in the 1980s mood is reflected by the high sheen silver and gold frames while represented by the antiqued silver and gold frames is the modest spirit of the 1990s. The industrial metal frames are very different from the metal frames a long time ago. In the newer ones there are brushed finishes with cross hatching and cleaner lines in their wider design. In the same way as earlier metal frames, these are the most economical framing choices.
