Cast includes Guide Raymond, Woodland Whitaker, Marcello Robinson, Rosario Dawson, Robert Richard, Judd Nelson, Fredro Starr, Sara Gilbert, Glynn Turman, and Vanessa L. Williams (99 minutes,'99)
Trackdown: Montana rancher (Jim Mitchum) comes to L.A. looking for his sister, who has fallen into a seamy life in the streets. Not much depth however lots of action. Cast includes Jim Mitchum, Karen Larnm, Anne Archer, Erik Estrada, Cathy Lee Crosby, and Vince Cannon. (98 minutes,'76)
A la Mode: This is a lighthearted French comedy of a young orphan who becomes apprentice to a village tailor, who proceeds to make it in the fashion scene of the '60s. If the remainder of the film were as clever as the clothes there may be more than suggested. Cast includes Remy Duchemin, Ken Higelin, Jean Yanne, Francois Hautesserre, and Florence Challenge. (82 minutes,'94)
Marley and Me: Johnny and Jenny Grogen have moved to Florida to start their new life together. Jenny is ready for children, but John isn't so sure. Instead, he gets her a puppy, Marley. Marley turns out to quite a bit to handle.
Sea Wife: Disarming yam of Burton and Collins subsisting on a torpedoed transport boat. He falls in love with her, not knowing she's a nun. Set throughout WW2. Cast includes Richard Burton, Joan Collins, Basil Sydney, and Ronald Squire. (82 minutes,'57)
The Nutcracker Prince: Physician Down treats an obvious madman, who then goes through a hallucinatory rerun of his current experiences: he's a French anthropologist who's materialized in L.A. and has been drawn to a band of bizarre street people. Cast includes Megan Follows, Peter Brosnan, Adam Ant, Anna-Maria Monticelli, Hector Mercado, and Mary Woronov. (75 minutes,'90)
Far and Away: A scrappy Irish occupant farmer hooks up, in doubtful style, with the comparably feisty daughter of a prosperous landowner, and together they travel to America to seek their final fate in the'93 Oklahoma land rush. Superlative platform for Tom and Nicole, who are both attractive and involving; the problem is a drastic absence of good dialogue to fill the gaps between fight scenes. Cast includes Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Thomas Gibson, Robert Prosky, Barbara Babcock, Cohn Meaney, and Rance Howard. (140 minutes,'92)
