Couples wishing to marry and not increase their credit card debt or get a loan to pay for the wedding must explore their options. Weddings are very important events but there are so many small details and expenses that it is very easy to become overwhelmed and lose track of finances. There are a few bright ideas for weddings on a budget that will help people planning a wedding to have the kind of wedding they wish for the amount of money they want to spend.

Strategy: Having a written strategy that lists all of the items that will need to be addressed will help an individual to stay on track. The strategy should include every item that is important to the individuals getting married as well as those who are contributing to the wedding party. Once the strategy is in place and agreed to items cannot be added. It is important to the budget that the strategy not be altered after it is finalized.

Budget: Most important to enjoying a wedding that is not draining on finances is to sit down and establish a budget. It is important to discuss what items or parts of the wedding are "must haves" and include these in the budget. Those items that are not as important can be placed at the bottom of the list and discussed if there is money left over for extras.

Scheduling: The cost of a venue, caterer, and other providers will change dramatically if the wedding is held on a weekday during the off season. While this may cause an inconvenience for some guests, it will be beneficial to the couple working on a budget. In many cases a venue will give a greater discount if the couple also use their in-house caterer.

One of the hardest parts of wedding planning can be dealing with the guest list. Especially if both the bride and groom come from large families and have lots of friends. Telling someone that they cannot come to your wedding because of budget constraints may be difficult and make you uncomfortable. To avoid some of this, having a weekday wedding will reduce the number of guests at your wedding significantly without any issues arising. Many people who would love to attend a wedding on a weekend cannot take off from work or get out of other commitments to attend a wedding. In addition, each guest will cost around 100 so it is important to decide how much money is in the budget for guests and plan on sticking with that number when you send out invitations.

Location: Finding a location that is cost effective and beautiful will be less of a challenge if the wedding is planned for a weekday off season. Many locations have significant breaks in the cost of services during their off periods and during the week. By selecting the location in this way you will be able to get the most services for your wedding. You will want to ask a lot of questions regarding the location and services and make sure that they are included in the paperwork before you sign and pay a deposit. Remember that once the deposit has been paid it can be very difficult to retrieve if the complaint is that a service you thought would be provided is not. Especially if it was not included in the paperwork that you signed.

Flowers: The flowers for a wedding can use from 8% - 10% of a wedding budget. When talking to the florist they will be able to tell you how you can stretch your budget to create the kind of arrangements that will be appropriate for your church and reception. Many times the florist will work directly with a couple to make sure that any flowers that can do double duty, such as in the church and as centrepieces at the reception are transported and set up on the day of the wedding. When selecting flowers for the wedding it is important that the florist be given some latitude in helping a couple to select the flowers that will be most beautiful and still be within their budget.

Proper planning and budgeting can create bright ideas for weddings on a budget that will be successful. When working with professionals it is important to ask questions and accept advice on ways to make the event special yet within budget. By sticking to the strategy and planning carefully, a couple will have a wedding that will be fondly remembered throughout their lives.
