We have all heard the saying ‘if mama ain’t happy, no one ain’t happy’. This is a true saying that applies to wives and girlfriends as well. Now this doesn’t mean you have to cater to their every need. Just make sure they are content. If you do this, your life will seem more content as well.
So how do you make sure the woman in your life is content and happy? Well it really isn’t hard, but these are things that sometimes men tend to neglect. If you keep these five ideas in your mind and act on them every chance you get, your wife will be happier in your relationship. And that will translate into a happier relationship for both of you!
Compliment – When a man is trying to win a woman’s affection, he will tell her how beautiful she is and other things that he likes about her. But for some reason, once he has won her love the compliments start to slow down. Maybe it is because he knows she loves him so he doesn’t need to say those things anymore. Maybe it is because he has become so comfortable with her that he doesn’t notice the everyday things. Whatever the reason behind the lack of compliments, it is time to start giving them again!
Women are very sensitive and emotional by nature. They love to feel like people notice them and it makes their day to get a compliment. No matter how small the achievement is, take notice. Now this doesn’t mean you need to stand up and applaud each time she does the dishes – that would be overkill. No, just notice a few things each day, big and small. Compliment her hair, the delicious dinner she made, the hard work she did in the yard, etc. If she feels like you notice her she will feel more love and kindness toward you.
Court Her – Just because you are married or in a committed relationship doesn’t mean the dating has to stop. It seems we get comfortable in everyday life and so we don’t feel the need to do something special. But that comfortable place is actually a rut. Do you want to be stuck in a rut for the rest of your life? Spice it up a little and have some fun! Take her to dinner and a movie or to a concert in the park. If funds are a little tight, just go for a picnic or stroll around the mall. Spend time together just the two of you. It will mean more to her if you plan it and even arrange for a babysitter if you need one. By showing her that she means enough to you that you will make all the arrangements she will love you more!
Help Around The House – Many men still believe that household chores are women’s work. Nothing could be further from the truth, especially if your wife works outside the home as well. If you are both working to support the family then you need to share the household chores. Don’t use the old excuse that you mow the lawn. That is a once or twice weekly job! Dishes, laundry and meals have to be taken care of every day, so do your part. Even if your wife stays at home to take care of the kids you can pitch in and help when you get home from work. Managing a house and small children is not a walk in the park! Her day can be stressful as well so make sure you recognize that a give her a little break each night. Even if it is just enough time for her to soak in a warm bath or go for a walk. Watch the kids, do the dishes or something like that to give her a few moments to herself.
Surprise Her – Women like to be surprised, whether it is on their birthday or just because, giving her a little gift can really make her day. You don’t need to spend a lot of money in fact you can pick a bunch of flowers from the yard. It will mean a lot to her just knowing that you were thinking about her. In fact, giving her small tokens of love on random days can go a long way when you want to show her that you care.
Express Your Love – You think she knows that you love her and she probably does know that you do, but when was the last time you told her? Even if you have the most content and comfortable marriage, you still need to express your love. This goes further than expressions of love. She needs to hear the words, ‘I Love You’. Tell her as you leave for work in the morning and before you go to bed each night. But make sure it is in a sincere and loving tone. Not just a hurried ‘love you’. Make sure she feels your love as you tell her.
Showing love to your wife through words and actions can go a very long way to keeping her happy. And if she is happy, you will be happy as well. So for the best relationship you can have, follow these five tips and you will find contentment and love for life!
