When times were bad, I was forced to start tending peoples gardens to make a living. It actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise as I now have a very successful business and a strong customer base. I had the big problem of transporting it to the dump as well as the extra costs that the dump would charge me. It turns out that I was worrying for nothing as a college suggested I simply hired a skip and put all the rubbish in there.
He gave me the number of a company that hired skips out by the day. I could choose the size of the skip that I needed. Most of the time, the skip could be placed on the house owners drive way, if they had no driveway then I simply applied for a permit to put the skip on the road.
The skip company would turn up on the day I specified. I would fill the skip up with all the rubbish that had built up. When the skip was full, I would call the skip company, and they would come to take away all the rubbish for me.
I can honestly say that the skip company has now become a vital part of my work as they reduce my workload for a small cost. I have used the skip company that many times, I am even on a first name basis with them now. They are listed in my little black book and I often joke about receiving a valued customer loyalty prize.
It is not just businesses that can hire skips though, any domestic customers can ring them and they will deliver a skip to you. There are rules about what rubbish they can, and can not take away however most reputable skip companies will list this on their website. If you are a house owner who needs to get rid of a huge quantity of waste, then simply call a skip company and let them handle your waste collection.
