Five years ago we were comfortable with Web design styles which were more table based web designs and thus conducing to heavy page weight. Website design industry then elevated itself and professional web designers also brushed up their website designing capabilities to match with the new drift of Web 2.0 designing. Websites designing through Web 2.0 design style not only looks much invoking than common websites but also caters you with the search engine friendly coding structure. The core of Web 2.0 design is the discipline of simplicity not the surface graphical effects. Below are a few Web 2.0 Website Design tips:

1. Simplicity
Simple webpages are read easily and quickly. You don t find your eye hopping around trying to work out what to look at. It is a much serener and more satisfactory browsing experience than in times gone by. Simple websites helps users to find what they want or to observe what the site wants them to observe.

There are two important aspects to achieving success with simplicity:
a. Take away all the unneeded elements, without losing the effectiveness.
b. Try to find out the alternative solutions that accomplish the same result more simply.

2. Central layout

Nowadays, majority of sites are positioned centrally within the browser window. Sites that sit straight front & center have more simpler and reliable feel. It is recommended to position your site in center unless there is a really nice reason not to.

3. Fewer columns

A few years ago, websites with 3 columns were the norm but today, 2 columns are more common, and 3 columns are the mainstream maximum. Fewer columns have simpler and better feel. It is recommended to use not more than 3 columns, simply because you should not use more of anything unless it is needed.

4. Separate top sections

The main branding and navigation on any website should be clear and bold. It is better to make a clear space at the top of a website design that poses the logo and navigation properly. It is recommended to put your website logo at the top of the screen and the main navigation right after it. The top section of the site should be discrete from the rest of the page content. The better way to distinguish is to use a bold, solid block of different color and tone.

5. Simple Navigation
A Permanent navigation is the global navigation of your website that is present on every page as a part of the page template. Web 2.0 design makes the navigation bold, large and clean.

Following the principle of simplicity, the best ways to elucidate navigation are:
a. Distinguishing navigation using color and tone
b. Placing permanent navigation links
c. Making navigation items clear and bold

6. Bold logos

A first impression and a strong brand integrating attitude are served by bold logos. For a logo to be visually effective, your logo should:
• Be placeable and classifiable
• Symbolize your brand s attribute and characters on first viewing

7. Strong colours
Strong colours in a website design are the important elements in making a state of equilibrium. Bright and the strong colours can differentiate between a website that is lifeless and draggy to a website that is effective and positive. It is recommended to use them to split the page into separate sections and to highlight important factors.

8. Unique Icons
Icons play a significant role in Web 2.0 design. Icons can be useful when they are easily placeable and carry a clear understanding. Your icons are one of the primary things your user will mark while using your website. It is recommended to use icons diligently to make sure that the clients have a unique experience when browsing your website.
