Ltd., has enhanced its digital still camera range by launching new, advanced DualView and High Zoom camera models across the WB, ST and PL series. All the new models that have been introduced – PL100, PL150, PL200, ST600 and WB600, stand differentiated on account of their innovative, easy-to-use features and their stylishly designed compact bodies. Twice the fun of any other compact camera, Samsung’s innovative DualView LCD concept is available in the ST600, PL150 and PL100 camera models. The dynamic Dual Display feature lets you see the shot on the back LCD as well as the Front LCD, so you can smile for the camera and be the photographer at the same time. Samsung’s PL200 and WB600 camera models allow you to get closer to the action through their respective 7x optical zoom and 15x Schneider super zoom lens. “The new camera models reinforce our position as a leading innovator in the digital camera market. Samsung PL Series – PL100, PL150 and PL200 The new Samsung DualView PL150 and PL100 come fully equipped with 12 MP CCD, providing sharp and detailed images. Whether taking pictures indoors or out, shooting a landscape or friends, the PL150’s 5x optical zoom, 27mm-wide angle lens gives you a wider shooting range from a shorter distance. The PL100 features a standard 35mm lens with 3x optical zoom. The PL150 and PL100 come with Samsung’s Advanced Dual Image Stabilization (IS) technology to help consumers capture crystal-clear, blur-free images. The PL150 features a larger 3.0-inch rear LCD while the PL100 features a 2.7-inch LCD with resolutions of 230K-pixels. Both feature a 1.5-inch color front LCD screen that gives consumers the ability to perfect their self-portraits or join their friends and family in the shot.
[Samsung PL 100 Camera]
Samsung’s PL200 camera is the next generation in high-resolution compact cameras combining advanced features such as high-definition video recording, powerful optics, and a large LCD screen. It comes fully equipped with a true-color filtered 14.2 mega pixel CCD, a powerful 7x optical zoom lens and sports a slim and stylish design that includes a large 3.0†LCD, allowing consumers to frame and review their images and video with ease. Combining the benefits of both Optical and Digital Image Stabilization, the Dual Image Stabilization technology feature in the PL200 gives added stability and users can capture clear, blur-free images with the utmost precision. Alongside high-quality still images, the PL200 can also record 720p HD video at 30 frames-per-second in H.264 format, giving users the flexibility to record HD video for longer periods of time. The PL150 and PL100 also feature a slanted design, which places the back of the camera at a seven degree angle. Thanks to the seven degree angling of the PL150 and PL100, the lenses will always be pointed at the subjects’ faces even if the camera is positioned at a lower angle. PL100 is priced at Rs.9,490/- while PL150 and PL200 are priced at Rs.10,990/- and Rs.11,990/- respectively.
Samsung ST Series – ST600 Extending the DualView concept to the ST series is the Samsung ST600 with its 8.89cm (3.5â€) WVGA Touch LCD and 4.57cm (1.8â€) Front LCD. Activated by a simple tap, the ST600’s front-panel display has the ability to frame self-portraits using the timer or to show a brief animation when the camera is in Children mode, so they look directly at the camera when their photo is taken. Complementing this is a 14.2 MP CCD image sensor, a Schneider-Kreuznach 5x optical zoom lens that delivers optimum quality at every shot and Digital Image Stabilization that combats image blur. The ST600 is priced at Rs.19,990/-.
Samsung WB Series – WB600 Continuing to provide consumers with high end solutions within the high-zoom category, the 14 mega-pixel WB600 carries a 24mm ultra wide angle with a world-first 15X super-zoom lens, within a 30mm compact camera body. The cameras’ high-performance Schneider KREUZNACH lens coupled with the Dual Image Stabilization feature allows users to capture crystal-clear images. Not only does the WB600 deliver truly exceptional stills shots, it puts high-definition video recording in the palm of your hand thanks to the ability to record video at a resolution of 720p/30fps. Samsung India also incorporates H.264 compression and allows users to share the HD action with WB600’s built in HDMI Connector. The Full Manual Control in the WB600 allows users to capture the greatest moments that they might miss out in the Auto Mode. The WB600 is priced at Rs.14,990/-.
The five new Samsung Cameras are also supported with a host of other advanced features such as Scene Recognition technology and Smart Auto (Still & Movie) that further simplify users’ ability to record the best image possible. Other features like Smile Shot, Blink Detection, Red-eye Fix, and Beauty Shot allow consumers to capture their subjects looking their best. With the addition of this new model, Samsung’s Digital Still Cameras portfolio, Samsung now has a complete lineup of 22 digital cameras priced between Rs. 5,990/- to Rs. 44,990/-. “Based on innovative new launches as well as our channel expansion programs, we are aiming to be one of India’s Top 3 Digital Imaging brand by 2012,†states Mr. Zutshi.
