Keeping a relationship is hard work. When a break up happens, one tends to allow one's emotions to control one's actions. Usually you'll feel mad and at times bitter. You are usually overcome by sadness for the better part of the day. Every part of your day is affected, and even though you know it won't work, you do your best to try to find a way to forget the things you liked about your lost relationship the most. You even do your best to not think about ways to get your ex back.
However, the one thing most of us don't do when we experience a break up is to think about what caused the break up in the first place. It could be because we trust friends and family who encourage us to move forward that makes it easier to do so. Unfortunately, all this does is set us up for failure in future relationships.
Knowing the reasons why previous relationships ended will help you to succeed in future relationships. Though every relationships are different, you might find that there may be some things that you do that you don't even know what you're doing that may serve as a spark for a conflict with your partner. You might not be aware of it, but these things could be the cause of your breakup.
In order to be completely free of negative emotion and be more successful in future relationships, you have to reflect on the things that went wrong in the relationship. You have to do your best not to put all the blame on you ex-partner. Passing the buck is too easy to do. Finding our own faults can be hard. For this reason, you may have to enlist some help. Your friends know you and will be honest. They can let you know things you do that might agitate other people or that may have led your last partner to break up with you. If you are thinking of getting back your partner, knowing this and changing it might be what will ultimately allow you to get your ex back.
A long, honest talk with your ex could help too. There is no better way of knowing what went wrong than asking your former partner what went wrong. Do keep in mind your emotions could effect your judgment so be careful. You have to be very open minded and understanding. This means that you have to truly accept what ever reason is given for the break up, no matter what it is. You'll need to accept the fact that you may need to change or do better.
When you find out what went wrong and you think you can fix it and you want to get your ex back, you have to be able to change and if possible eliminate bad habits. You have to keep in mind that if your relationship is to return to a happy partnership, your partner also has to be willing to accept downfalls and change them.
