As for probloggers, money comes in through Google, Adbrite and other ads that they put on their blogs. The challenge for these web-based writers is to make their content as fresh and interesting as possible so as to generative a high volume of traffic which is what makes a blog make money.
Without traffic, it may even get banned by the affiliate site with which it is signed up. Therefore, it's essential to keep content likable by most people if it is, at all, going to make money.
