In today's culture, despite a struggling economy, one thing that has not changed is people still care about the way they look. If you turn on your television there are reality shows about Plastic Surgery, it's talked about in every magazine, and it's all over Hollywood. Plastic Surgery in Hollywood has almost become the norm. The age old Nip TUCK! Now more than ever in history has Plastic Surgery for reconstructive purposes or cosmetic procedures for enhancements become more in fashion. And one thing for sure people are not afraid to spend money on them; A lot of money!
I mean think about it, everywhere you look there are Plastic Surgeons, Dermatologists, and Med Spas offering the latest and greatest in cosmetic procedures. They offer Botox, Restylane, Juviderm, Sculptra, laser hair removal, lunch time peels and more. You even see Dentists offering specials on teeth whitening, porcelain veneers and smile enhancements. It is everywhere you look and the market seems to be growing bigger everyday.
If you read your local paper, I am sure you can't help but see all the advertisements for cosmetic procedures. Plastic Surgeons, Med Spas, Dermatologists and even Dentists do all types of print advertising as well as online marketing. There is a big business here and it is only getting bigger. I am sure you have heard about Botox Parties where a Plastic Surgeon or a Doctor will come to your home for the day and cater to you and all your friends. You can have a party with your friends while getting a little Botox or Restylane or other cosmetic procedure. Hair Salons and Spas are also getting in on this business and offering these services for their Clientele. Every where you turn you can get a little NIP here and a little TUCK there.
According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons

1.7 million of them were cosmetic surgical procedures
10.4 million were cosmetic minimally invasive procedures
So you ask yourself is Plastic Surgery for me? Do I want to try some Botox to prevent the signs of aging and maybe hide those frown lines? Should I try some fillers to help with those sagging jowls and give me a more youthful look? Maybe it is having your teeth fixed with some cosmetic dentistry. Well, whether or not you decide Plastic Surgery is for you or if you just want to maybe try a cosmetic procedure such as Restylane or Botox to enhance your appearance, Whatever it may or may not be, one thing you will know for sure there will not be a shortage of places to go or procedures to have done.
One thing you should always do before choosing to have Plastic Surgery or any cosmetic procedure is make sure you find a doctor who you feel comfortable with. You may want to ask a family member or friend if they have a doctor that they can recommend. It is very important to do your research!
There are a couple of websites that provide resources for finding local or national plastic surgeons. In addition you can also research board certified doctors through professional organizations, such as the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS).
