Do you realize how many things we pass along to other people on a daily basis?
• Movies Have you seen…? It s a great movie; one that you ought to watch.
• Books I just read the best book! I know you d like it, too.
• Ideas Well, I think…, What if…? Have you considered…?
• Websites This website is really good for… You should check it out.
• General information Today on the news I heard…, I saw an advertisement for…
• Germs Achoo!
In all of these cases (except for the germs), what is passed on is of interest, either to the one hearing, watching, etc., or to another who we know would be interested and benefit. Would that we Christians would be as eager, or even more eager, to pass along things that we learn from God s Word! I d like to pass along to you the idea of passing along online Bible studies, to both believers and unbelievers.
• Unbelievers The best approach in online Bible studies to offer an unbeliever would be the chronological approach. There may be some who have a general idea about God and the Bible, but apparently not enough to truly understand the desperate need they have. A chronological study will show them from the beginning who God is and what He s like, why He created man and what the state of man is now, His provision for all mankind through His Son, Jesus Christ, and His plan for the future of those who trust only in Him. There are online chronological Bible studies that are completely objective in their approach so that one would not feel pressured into being converted. There may be those in religions who claim to know and believe the Bible, yet they do not understand the full Gospel. Something objective will allow them to see for themselves, according to the Bible, what they ought to believe.
• Believers Online Bible study topics to study and pass along to fellow believers are so numerous, and one could study the same topic several times and always learn something new! One topic that could be shared is the issue of Christian growth and discipleship. Many people today want the security of knowing they ll go to heaven when they die, but don’t want to change much of their lifestyle. They might think that they will be limited on how much fun they can have if they study the Bible and grow as a Christian, or they want to learn only the basics without having to go too deep. Often, when these people get into a study that walks them through the steps of being a growing Christian, they realize that obedience is an outgrowth of the new life they ve been given. Another important topic that should be passed along is that of evangelism and missions. Having the only remedy for sin and death life through Jesus Christ Christians must learn the importance of sharing the good news with the dead.
