Cast includes Joe Don Baker, Conny Van Dyke, Gabriel Dell, John Marley, Brock Peters, and Roy Jenson. (106 minutes, 1975)
Red Skies of Montana: Corny account of woodland-firemen, rescued by amazing fire patterns. Cast includes Richard Widmark, Jeffrey Hunter, Constance Smith, Richard Boone, Richard Crenna, and Charles Bronson. (99 minutes, 1952)
Toy Story: A boy's top choice toy, a doll named Woody, feels bullied and properly so by the emergence of a new toy, a high-tech spaceman model promoted on Television. An adult story masquerading as a kids film, this tale of kinship, fickleness, and the need for acceptance has a vibrant cast of characters led by Woody and his adversary, Thrill Light-year. Their facial proclamations and body language is as excellent as anything ever seen in a conventional animation. Cast includes Tim Allen, Don Rickles, Jim Varney, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger, Annie Potts, Laurie Metcalf, and R. Lee Ermey. (80 minutes, 1995)
Jurassic Park: Billionaire Attenborough asks paleontologists Dem and Neill, and mathematician Goldblum to examine his island entertainment park, populated with living dinosaurs. He even has his grandchildren tag along, peacefully skeptical that anything might go awry. Slam-bang thriller is loaded with action, anticipation, hair-raising chills, and landmark visual effects: the dinosaurs appear real. It won three Oscars, for Graphic Outcomes, Noise, and Noise Outcomes Revising. Cast includes Sam Neill, Laura Dem, Jeff Goldblum, Richard Attenborough, Bob Poke, Ariana Richards, Samuel L. Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade: The Nazis are still looking for religious artifacts. Now they are hunting for the Holy Grail. Indiana's father has gone missing in Europe. He was also seeking the Grail. Now on a desperate search, Indiana tries to find his father, and the Grail.
Prom Night: This is about exacting revenge on the boys who were accountable for the mortality of a little girl 6 years before. Not the poorest of its type, although that's nothing to boast about. Cast includes Leslie Nielsen, Jamie Lee Curtis, Casey Stevens, Antoinette Bower, and Robert Silverman. (91 minutes, 1980)
Bar Girls: Friendly if faulty romantic comedy with a twist: most of its chief characters are lesbians who assemble at L.A.'s Girl Bar. The core personality is compulsive, wryly ludicrous Loretta Wolfe, a female Woody Allen who desires an exact better half but not truly grasping what it means to genuinely and entirely love another person. The film's shortcomings are made up for by witty discussion and believable characters. Cast includes Nancy Allison Wolfe, Liza D'Agostino, Camila Griggs, Justine Slater, Lisa Parker, and Pam Raines. (95 minutes, 1994)
