Using the latest technology alone does not make you smart. The way you apply technology in your life brings about the real difference. These “ways” aren’t rocket science contrary to common beliefs; these are very simple changes you have to undertake to be labeled “Tech-smart”.
The following points will give you an easy insight on how technology can be dealt with smartly-
1. Use your laptop’s battery cautiously
Cautious use does not imply not charging batteries; it only means taking them out when not being used for long or when laptop is powered by AC current; the batteries should be taken out when half empty and kept in a cool-dry place. Of course you must not forget to recharge the snooty yet simple device after taking them out and before heading out of home with them.
2. Backed up your back up software?
You surely know to store your files either on your hard drive or an external device but do you check whether those files have a back-up of their own? Mostly no, that is why we see drives crash often. So what do you do in such a situation? You just have to be a little careful by always having multiple back-ups; back-up’s for your back-up software!
3. Avoid the health risks associated with technology
We have often heard about sitting away from our monitors because it harms the eyes. But what about our necks and backs? We hardly pay any attention to the kind of keyboards we use; flat half sized keyboards should be a strict no-no. Curved wireless keyboards, ergonomic keyboards would be a decent choice to give some well deserved rest to your body parts.
4. Keep a tab on automatic renewals of applications
It is very convenient to have automatic updates on for all the software’s you use and for some of these updates you pay too. If you forget to keep a check on these paid automatic renewals, you might just be paying unnecessary bills for software’s which you no longer use. Therefore watch your credit card bill to know what updates and upgrades are you being charged for?
5. Choose passwords intelligently
Life’s easy with the same password for each application you use, isn’t it? Alas! It isn’t the smartest technique; your one hacked account will lead to a series of hacks. So the question arises, how do you remember multiple passwords like of your bank, credit card and e-mail account? The "password manager" is the answer to your question; save your passwords electronically or just have them penned down manually at some safe place. It is not very complicated indeed.
In fact none of the above mentioned technique is tough to adopt. We live in a world where working hard is not exactly a passé but working smart earns you more credit. And who doesn’t like to adorn the street smart tag? So these tactics will not only make you smart but will also save your precious money. Try and make the most out of these very simple methods.
