Most search engines give significant priority - i.e. higher search results placement - to URLs with the city name intrinsic to the Domain Name. In other words, ClevelandItalianFood.com would rank much higher in the local marketplace - i.e. if you did a local search with Yahoo - than Italian Food searches in Cleveland that were ‘locally listed’ only. Therefore, if you are building a major presence in a given metropolitan area you should consider adopting a new Domain Name that incorporates the City in which you intend to promote yourself.
