Everyone wishes their health to be good but not everyone has enough time to get in proper work outs and ensure that this is possible. This is the reason that health experts are pushing people to adopt the ten thousand step method. The strategy is that you take at least ten thousand steps each day (walking) and that will help you get very healthy and cut down on the time that is required for exercise. Walking is great exercise and really low impact. How often have you heard a physician say "just a single walk around the block improves your health"?
Obviously, getting in ten thousand steps day after day will likely be challenging. That's a huge amount of steps to take! The nice thing about it is that you're already probably taking ten thousand steps every day without realizing it. Your intention should really just be raising your step count by two or three thousand. So how do you accomplish that without resorting to merely taking walks back and forth for hours on end?
Increasing the step count can be achieved easily employing these obvious methods. Taking the steps instead of riding the elevator is a classic example of this. Parking at the far end of the parking lot can also be recommended at the mall or the store. To further this plan, you might also stay parked in a single spot and walk your shopping bags out to the car as you accumulate them-instead of carting them all over the shopping center as you run your errands. Choosing public transit is great because doing so includes a walk to and from a bus or train stop which is fantastic for increasing your step count. The most apparent way to do it, of course, is to just take a brief walk each day.
There are also some less apparent ways to improve the amount of steps you take each day. Order the grocery list in a different way. Lots of folks organize their lists according to the aisles within their stores. You could choose to order your list based on category including meat, product and dairy. Simply shop along the list from here. You could possibly wind up criss crossing the store several times but it's a wonderful way to increase your step count. Instead of putting your mailbox as part of your door or installing it in a wall of your residence, put it out by the curb on a post. This can add at least two or three dozen steps to your count each day as you walk from the door to the box and back.
Increasing your step count can be achieved in several ways. The more used to the idea of 10,000 steps you get the easier it will be for you to figure out how to meet your goal. Thankfully, each and every step you take--whether it's walking toward the refrigerator or going for walks on a treadmill, counts toward your end step count goal. Have fun on this!
