Everyone would like their health to be very good but not everyone has enough time to get in proper work outs and make sure that this is possible. This is one of the reasons that the ten thousand step system has become well-liked. The strategy is that you take at least ten thousand steps each day (walking) and that will help you get very healthy and reduce the time that is required for exercise. Walking is often a amazing and low impacting exercise. How often have you over heard "if he'd only taken a walk around the block now and then?"

Obviously, it will not easy to take ten thousand steps every day. That's a lot! The very good news is that you're already probably taking ten thousand steps each day without knowing it. What you need to do is figure out how to include a few more thousand steps to get to the objective. So how do you make it happen without feeling like you're wasting half of your day walking around?

There are a number of totally obvious things you can do to take more steps. Taking the steps as an alternative to riding the elevator is a common example of this. You may also decide to park far away from the doorway of the store or the mall. To further this idea, you can also remain parked in one spot and walk your shopping bags out to the car as you accumulate them-instead of carting them all over the shopping center as you run your errands. Using public transportation is great for raising your step count since you have to walk to the bus stop and back instead of just to and from the car. The most obvious way to do it, of course, would be to just take a quick walk each day.

You could also improve the amount of steps you take by using some less than obvious methods. Order your current grocery list in a different way. Plenty of individuals set up lists by the aisles in their preferred stores. You may choose to order your list in accordance with category just like meat, product and dairy. Then find every item in the order that it is shown on your list. You may possibly find yourself criss crossing the store a few times but it's a fabulous way to raise your step count. Instead of owning a mail box as part of your door or attached to the house, mount it on a post close to the curb. This will add at least several dozen steps to your count each day as you walk from the door to the box and back.

Increasing your step count can be achieved in lots of ways. As you become used to the idea of walking 10,000 steps a day you'll think of excellent ways to get to this goal faster. The nice thing is that each of the steps you take each day count-walking to the fridge, the copy machine to and from your car-they all matter for your goal. Have fun with it!
