When men begin to experience hair loss, it can be devastating to their emotions and self-esteem. But women's hair loss is equally traumatizing and even devastating. This is something that women of all countries have to deal with, as well. In the western world, in particular, it can be a major cause of shame and embarrassment. There are social expectations about women and hair, and just one of them is that women don't, and shouldn't, lose their hair. The realization and process of losing her hair or watch it fall out can be much more devastating for a woman. Also, did you know that hair loss happens as much in women as it does in men? So, let's now talk about some of the reasons for women's hair loss.
First, we'd like to mention that medications that some women take will have a direct impact on her ability to keep her hair. One widely known procedure, chemotherapy, will cause this to happen. Others cause hair to fall out because of the way the medication interacts with a woman's body chemistry. But some experiences are not of direct hair loss. It's not actual hair loss, but rather it's an interruption with new hair growth. In such conditions of interactivity, eventually she will appear to be balding or hair is falling out, but that's not the case. Still though, it will look the same and people won't know any different. There's another condition that can produce hair loss and that is anemia. The inherent biological cycles of women predisposes them to mild anemia which seems to be normal. This is why women's vitamins will often contain enough iron to help them exceed their daily recommended intake of the iron. There are known methods for treating a deficiency of iron in women, and that would be through diet and supplementation. Of course proper treatment should always be supervised by your family physician. Anemia can only be diagnosed with a blood test. For a percentage of women, medication is necessary because the condition is so bad. Always see your family doctor if you suspect something is wrong.
Sadly, one of the leading causes of women's hair loss is genetics. If certain members of your family suffered from hair loss, it is highly likely that you will have thinner hair or lose your hair as well. The hard thing about this situation is that there's nothing that can be done about it, at least not yet. Women who fall into this category suffer from high levels of humiliation. Perhaps the only option for most women is they have to hide and conceal the hair loss. Hair loss in women is due to many causes and situations in life. Some are physical, others are emotional, and some are environmental. But the one way you can find out definitively is to see your doctor for tests. Perhaps they'll need to run blood tests and other tests, but they'll help you to know exactly why it's happening. There are usually options for many situations, and they will be the ones who can best offer you the choices that are available.
