If you go to a home improvement store you will see a lot of power equipment designed expressly for the garden. You can acquire equipment to trim the hedges, mow the grass, cultivate the garden and many other things! Where will you put all the stuff that you need to care for your garden? Never fear, you can have a gorgeous garden without purchasing every bit of equipment the store has for sale. Many gardeners can make do with just a few fundamental tools when it comes to power equipment for the garden.

Cut That Grass!
If you have grass you are going to need a lawn mower to keep it appearing great. But there are a lot of choices when it comes to deciding on a lawn mower. Do you want a gas mower or one that is run by electricity? A riding mower or one you push? Do you want to bag or mulch your clippings? There is a lot to think about when it comes to deciding on the perfect mower for your yard. Here are some things to consider:

Size of yard. Smaller yards do well with a cordless or an electric lawn mower. These mowers are quiet and low-cost to run and take care of. Be aware that a mower with a cord will restrict the distance you can mow, so they are best for small yards where the cord can reach all of the space. If you have a larger yard but would like an electric mower, you should choose a cordless model. Cordless mowers can mow approximately 1/3 of an acre on a solitary charge. Small yards are usually best for push mowers since you don't really have the room to turn a riding mower.

Bagging or mulching. If you have green waste pick up in your area you may want to take into account a bagging mower. You can then send the clippings to your community collection site. If you don't have a area location, you can start your own compost heap and add your grass trimmings to it. If neither of these solutions will work for you, then a mulching mower is a excellent option. These mowers cut the clippings into little pieces so they will fall back into the grass and decompose.

Till the Garden!
A garden tiller is one of those types of garden equipment that you either really need or you can do without. If you have a small garden or mostly grass, you won't have much need for a tiller. But gardeners who have many flower beds or a large garden will like having their own garden tiller. A garden tiller will help you get the soil ready for planting by breaking up the hard dirt.

Garden tillers, like mowers, come in a assortment of sizes and styles. Gardeners with a big garden space or heavy soil will prefer a large tiller that runs on gas. These tillers are large enough to cut through tough soil in a large area. If you select a gas tiller, always make sure you have extra gasoline within reach so you don't run out in the middle of your job! Gas tillers need scheduled maintenance and care so they will run smoothly each time. Don't store it over winter with gas in the tank or you will have problems come spring!

If you have a lot of compact spaces in your garden, or you have a small garden then a small garden tiller is the perfect option.. These tillers usually have only two small tines, weigh very little and easy to work with. Small tillers come in both electric and gas styles. However, an electric tiller is less complicated to care for and they are significantly quieter than the fuel powered styles.

Additional garden equipment you may discover are items like trimmers, edgers, and leaf blowers. This equipment falls in the optional group. If your garden has features that require some of this equipment then you should have it, but it isn't a neccessity for every gardener. People who have hedges will benefit from a hedge trimmer, and if you have lots of trees and leaf blower is helpful.. But, the average gardener wouldn't have a use for most of these equipment.

Powerful equipment is very effective in the garden. It can make a days work less time consuming and easier to do. Take your time to choose exactly what equipment will work best in your garden before you buy. Yard work will be a pleasure with any of these great tools!
