Even since they were first brought into the MLB, the Philadelphia Phillies have been a team that withstands the test of time, even if they haven't always been on top. They are undoubtedly fighters, ready to win championships which haven't come easily. The Braves and Blue Jays are two of their toughest opponents, and while they have seen a lot of good players, they have stayed a reasonably good team. Their jerseys are the colors of the American flag, which is appropriate for the team's spirit.
Roy Halladay and Joe Carter are two such players who have done a lot for the team over the years. Halladay was one to help the team win against the Marlins in May 2010. He pitched a great game that won. The team has gotten several MVP awards and championship players in its time as a major league team - Cole Hamels being one such player. In the way they could, the team has a marker to demonstrate their former field of Veterans Stadium.
They Phillies have never been considered a top MLB team but they are still successful. They have played often against skilled opponents and made it to the world series a few times. They have also maintained a friendly rivalry with the Mets over time, one that has kept a spirit of fun and good competition between the two teams. This has gotten them a lot of fans on both sides.
The Philadelphia Phillies started out very young, over 50 years ago. Since their earliest days they have seen the victory of several pennants, and have continued to play well even under pressure. While not making it to some of the top positions of MLB teams, their success has been more in the form of good players - many of whom have been traded to other teams.
While a team cannot be decided upon just by the games its won, the Phillies are no different. In many cases the Phillies have proven their spirit by managing to get through many stadium switches, and undergoing changes of their team coaches - which is always a difficult thing for any team.
Ultimately the Philadelphia Phillies have played a great game for many years and will undoubtedly continue to do so. Even though they haven't remained in the top position of the MLB rankings for their division, they have stayed quite respectable through the years and still have many fans, a lot of whom are dedicated solely to the team.
Without doubt, the Phillies will stay one of the most important teams in MLB history due to their ability to stay a good team even when faced with the trials of changing coaches and stadiums quite often. They will continue to have numerous fans, as well.
While some of the team's fans have clamored about their jerseys, they are currently sticking to the design they have now. Time will tell whether or not this design stays popular with the team. The design of their jerseys is a largely individual thing so it is hard to say how much it will change in the coming years.
