A military accident law firm has launched a new technology initiative to provide their personal injury clients with the most advanced service to date. Hilary Meredith Solicitors has teamed up with Apple to develop customised and pre loaded iPads that will be given free of charge to their seriously injured clients, most often the Armed Forces returning from battle with life changing injuries.
The Hilary Meredith team worked with Apple to produce the customised iPad for the hard of hearing (noise induced hearing loss) and those in need of rehabilitation and cognitive brain therapy.
Concerned by a lack of provision for the seriously injured Armed Forces, who often find themselves challenged by traditional forms of technology, the firm set out to find an innovative solution. Profoundly deaf and brain injured clients are also using the touch screen iPads in their everyday lives as an alternative to desktop PCs and laptops.
Commenting on the launch initiative, senior partner Hilary Meredith said;
"We are delighted to have teamed up with Apple and can now provide iPads for our seriously injured clients.
"Returning from a visit to Headley Court Rehabilitation Centre, I was determined to find a way to make communication easy for the hardworking Armed Forces service men and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq having suffered horrific serious injuries.
"The benefits of touch screen technology for those who have lost limbs or have dexterity problems are huge and so far the iPads have been a great success. We are now able to give the most up to date information available in a very accessible way and the touch screen and apps are particularly useful for client with a disability. The desert fatigue camouflage print of the iPads has also been particularly well received by our clients in the Armed Forces.
"We have even adapted the technology so our most seriously injured client are able to benefit. So far we have had some fantastic feedback."
Hilary added:
"Anything that makes the lives of our seriously injured clients easier is definitely a good thing and we are very grateful to Apple for their support and assistance with this initiative.
"The firm has recognised the benefits of technology in assisting the comforts of seriously injured clients. Other aspects of our technology campaign include the provision of live video meetings with a solicitor so they can speak from a hospital bed, rehab unit or home, affording them the personal touch without intrusion at what can be a very distressing time.
"Seriously injured clients can also find new videos on our website, guiding them through the claims process. Our priority is to make sure they feel informed and comfortable throughout, and the new campaign is certainly helping us achieve it".
