The Dovo razor is one of the best straight razor brands that you could use for shaving. When compared to disposable shavers, cartridge blades and electric razors, it will not leave you itchy for hours or cut your skin along with your hair. Razor bumps can also be prevented with the use of a good, old straight razor.

This is because it does not cut the hair below the skin line, which is the cause of razor bumps. As the hair tries to grow back, it can get caught under the skin. Since the skin will not prevent the hair from growing, it will attempt to grow beneath instead resulting to razor bumps.

However, using the Dovo razor will require proper care in order to make it last longer. It has to be rinsed with clean water and dried thoroughly after use. If you are not going to use it for a long period, you should rub it with light oil to keep the blade from rusting. The place where you are going to store it should not be damp and it should also have proper air circulation.

There is no rule of thumb when it comes to whetting or stropping the blade of your Dovo Straight razor but in most cases, drawing it lightly over the ball of your thumb would be enough. Users of the straight edge razor have to learn how to care for their razor, especially the fin. The fin will wear away gradually so a strop is important.
