In terms of sheer realism, paintball and airsoft offer a very real environment. There's a reason why paintball and airsoft are so sought after. Paintball and airsoft are simply more conceivable than a lot of the other shooters available to the public None of these alternative shooters provide the exhilaration of an airsoft or paintball match.
A sense of realism is a significant benefit for airsoft and paintball, and the participants are laughing. Airsoft and paintball players do not even mind the pain involved in airsoft, because it brings an another level of realism. Airsoft is even more realistic than paintball. For a while there, it really looked like airsoft was going to take over.
Don't worry paintball fans, paintball companies have already begun creating paintball guns with the airsoft realistic flair. Even though paintball is on a comeback, the paintball gun design still needs some time to perfect. It will be awhile before paintball markers will look anywhere near as cool as an airsoft Ak-47.Airsoft is more realistic than paintball, but the difference is narrowing. Airsoft rifles look scary real. Too many people mistook airsoft for an actual gun fight that a policy had to be in place to mellow the sport down a little. As of June 2008, the United States gun control office forced airsoft manufacturers to put a plastic cap on each airsoft gun. This measure was simply a way to diminish airsoft's life-like illusion. But paintball still has its advantages.
A paintball leaves a noticeable mark on opposing players. Paintball also gets the most company sponsorships and media coverage. This is a direct result of being a more reputable entity. If no mark is left on a fallen foe, how can you prove that you hit him? You can't! In a championship match, are you ever really sure the right team won? Not only does splattering your opponents with paint help eliminate cheating. It's pretty good fun too. Until airsoft can solve the issue of accessible cheating, paintball will continue to dominate the shooter industry.
Who knows whether airsoft or paintball will dominate in the next 20 years. Realistic paintball guns may have saved paintball for the time being, but airsoft continues to increase its player base.
