Sometimes, traditional is just the best way to go! I also believe that we evolve, while our faith still stays the same. So while I'm sure you still follow your faith, your "taste" in different things may change over the years. While the Chanukah menorahs are one of the MAIN symbols in the Judaism religion and they do have an amazing story behind them, I see nowhere that says you have to keep the same traditional menorah! Listed below are some Chanukah menorahs that I have gathered and found available - these are considered to be the top sellers and therefore the most popular menorahs to buy!
Traditional Menorah: Alright so this is on the more traditional side of things, but it's a definite beauty! This specific faux sterling silver menorah is super easy to take care of, it never needs polishing, it goes with just about anything or any style of decor, and it has the 9 branches - the middle branch has the Star of David as well.
Pewter Chanukah menorahs: This specific piece I found on one website has the outline of a man and a woman joining hands. There are eight candle pieces and then ninth one is where the man and woman conjoin hands. It's a little less traditional, but it still has the "higher" or raised middle "branch" that all other menorahs have. Pewter is a really nice metal because it tends to take on the shine of sterling silver menorahs, but it's much easier to take care of.
Olive Oil Menorah: Nickel plated, very sleek and stunning, this particular olive oil menorah has eight regular and one raised candle holder and can be used with the original substance used when the sacred Menorah was around, lighted eight days by olive oil that was supposed to last for one day!
Tree of Life Menorah: Of course this menorah takes on the Tree Of Life shape in that it has the 8 top candles as the "leaves" off of the branches, and the one bottom candle as the trunk of the tree. Now depending who you are and what you believe in, the Tree Of Life has different symbologies, but most people believe that this specific tree is the symbolism behind God creating the world out of ex nihilo or out of "nothing". The tree of life in other cultures and religions also symbolizes ongoing life, the celebration of life or the new beginnings in life. Either way, the Tree Of Life really is an amazing symbol no matter how you may celebrate it!
Out of all of these, I really liked the last one - it sort of has a kind of art deco / contemporary feel to it. I also liked it because of the Tree Of Life motif. This is one of my favorite symbols as far as life meanings go! Of course you can also find other menorahs as well such as sterling silver menorah, glass, ceramic, even plastic ones if you so choose! Over all, when it comes to these beautiful items, the best place to shop for them is going to be online because you will always be able to find one that "fits" with your home.
