Dell Incorporated has a simple blue logo in which we see on devices in our everyday world. Laptops, desktops, data storage systems and more - we continually use Dell products to keep our lives on track and our businesses running each day. But where did it all start with Dell Incorporated? Was it out of a garage like Hewlett-Packard, or was it a different type of company to begin with? Dell Incorporated has evolved over the years into what we rely on today as a computer based and information technology go-to corporation. The company's mere beginnings may be shocking, but also informative, to understand how such a grand idea all began.

This American company (Dell Incorporated) based out of Round Rock, Texas has a list of grand accomplishments and awards. Founded by Michael Dell in the early nineteen eighties, Dell Incorporated now employees over ninety-six thousand employees directly, and even more for indirect retails sales and service. Fortune also listed Dell Incorporated as the number five most admired companies within its own industry.

In 1984 Michael Dell was only a college student in Texas, when he initially created PC Limited. Headquarted in Michael Dell's dorm room, he focused on the sale of IBM PC compatible computer systems, created from basic stock components. After dropping out of school to pursue this business, Dell created the very first 'Turbo PC' which sold for a little under eight hundred dollars. These custom-assembled units sold over seventy-three million in only the first year.

Changing its name to Dell Computer Corporation in the late nineteen eighties, Dell's products began to sell globally. In even nineteen ninety-two Dell Corporation was included in Fortune's top five hundred biggest companies, which in turn made Dell the youngest CEO ever, to make this Fortune list. A few short years later (2002) Dell began selling his customized computers via his website, online. Dell began to also produce televisions, printers and digital audio players. Often connecting business line personal computers, to Oracle and Sun servers, Dell desktops were continually a hit.

Including several acquisitions over the years, Dell continued to expand, creating microprocessors, and even cross marketing their products. Between the years of 2004 and 2007 Michael Dell even stepped aside as Chief Executive Officer, and let his long-time, trusted employee of Dell (Kevin Rollins) take over. Dell continued to succeed because of its vast array of products and top notch services, even with Dell momentarily stepping down.

Today, Dell is still based out of Round Rock, Texas, but also has buildings and employees around the globe. Located in places such as the United Kingdom, Philippines, India and Oklahoma, Dell Incorporated seems have locations everywhere.

Even with their grounded locations, they also sell their products via online retailers and chain stores that individuals visit each and every day. Continually producing jobs for our economy as well as products that make our lives easier with the click of a button, Dell has definitely placed itself in the history books of our time
