Most golf courses and pro clubs, country clubs and golf organizations in general like to get PR out into the public. This is no different than any other large company. Many people who go to these places don’t mind being the “bearer” of this PR and in fact, will buy the item themselves. The courses today prefer to have their own section of apparel and gear that they then sell in their pro shops. In addition to shirts and custom golf balls they will often also sell a golf course cap. These caps will have the course name on it. It is a popular item for those golfers that have extreme loyalty to one course or another.
There is kind of enjoyment that comes from wearing the cap of the place that you also drop so much money for all the rounds you play. You might as well advertise for them too! The golf course cap will often have a simplicity logo on the front above the brim and maybe a little design like a golf hole that is famous there or something else that would identify the course to its regular patrons. They also will be available usually in more than one hat style. At the least a ball cap and a visor will usually be part of the line.
Golf caps have been a part of the line of the apparel for the player for a very long time. They did not always have anything special on them and were intended to be functional units that kept the snout of the player’s eyes but over time this has evolved to being a fashion statement. A golf course cap will also say a bit about the golfer, where they like to play and how loyal they are to the course that they call home. In addition, a lot of players like to wear caps from other course they desire to play at eventually.
It doesn’t take much to have a golfer support their local club. There is a different kind of camaraderie and a bond with the players at courses. A golf course cap is a perfect way to wear that out on your sleeve (or head in this case). Customers would like a bit of a selection about what they can choose from, and most clubs give them that, but still, they will want a number of choices to pick from.
If you get a golf course cap from the course of your liking you will probably find that you can get it in many different colors, styles and designs. The courses have come to realize that there is money to be made in selling apparel and they get free advertising so it is a double hit for them. For the golfer it is just a way of representing the course that you love to play at. Even if sometimes you hate the course because you play it so bad, in the long run it’s your home course and you want everyone to know it.
