Batteries are known for producing electrons within their containers and this is for powering different electrical devices. The electron flow is done through a device which is important because the powering of the device will require the production of a seemingly endless supply of these electrons for the continued supply of power that is required for the device to perform to its capability and this the reason many people ask how does a battery work. The container of the battery which is basically a cylindrical metal shell also comprises of various chemicals.

These chemicals are known to react to each other through electrochemical reaction and this is where they electrons are released to the outside. There are 3 main components of a battery. One of these components is the negative and positive terminals. These terminals are used to complete the circuit. When you connect a wire between the negative and positive terminals there will be a flow of electrons from the negative end going back into the battery through the positive end and this is the main reason why batteries last for long. For you to know how a battery works you have to go through an example like putting batteries on a remote and pressing on any of the buttons and this will involve the current being pulled from the battery and this is through the negative terminal.

The electrons will flow through the remote where their power will be harnessed o utilize the button. And then after the electrons are finished with their work they will be passed back through another wire go back into the battery through the positive terminal. Completing this circuit will be very important in order to prevent electrons from building up in your TV remote or any other device. Overtime the electrons will be lost to the outside world and this is because there are many barriers including wire resistance as well as contact with several things and this will mean that not 100% of the electrons will make it back into the battery and this is why batteries lose their charge after some time.

The few that make it back to the battery also make their way back into the atoms of the chemicals comprised in the battery. This allows the battery to be able to perform its duties continually and at the same time produce more chemical reactions. Batteries operate under different principles depending on their purpose. The standard AA or AAA batteries use a zinc carbon reaction while the car batteries are known to operate with a lead acid reaction making them dangerous for usage in the house.

The battery cells of a car battery are comprised of 2 plates and one of them is made of lead and the other with lead dioxide. The 2 plates are immersed in a sulfuric acid liquid. The plate that is made of lead is known to release lead ions tat combine with the sulfate ions which should be produced by the sulfuric acid. The 2 plates also combine so as to form an electron as well as lead sulfate. While the battery is discharging all the electrons leave the top plate and go out hence leaving the lead sulfate and water. They then associate and the process is started all over again after the electrons have come back to the battery.
