The most popular grilled or baked meats of all have to be ribs. When you compare baking with grilling, baking is the best as the resulting is tender and it is able to retain most of its moisture. Most of the natural juices found in meat tend to be sapped by the grilling process. A disadvantage of grilling is that it tends to be best done in good weather. During awry weather like the rainy season as well as the winter, the oven remains the best option of preparing your meat. The following instructions will act as a guide as you get to know how to bake ribs in an oven. Bon App?tit. The first thing to do is to ensure that you buy enough amounts of ribs before anything else. The ribs should be in racks and ensure that you triple or double the amount that you usually buy of other meats.

The reason behind increasing the amount of ribs is the fact that ribs tend to contain lots of fat and bone which might leave your family and friends hungry if you buy the usual meat amount. It has been found that an adult male can consume up to a pound of ribs especially when you do not have plans for side dishes. Seasoning is a very important part of cooking ribs as it gives the ribs that unique and delicious flavor that is a favorite with many people. Seasonings can be found in many different forms which can all be used to come up with great tasting ribs. There are several seasonings which are commonly used and they include meat tenderizers, garlic, pepper and salt. It is also possible to incorporate herbs such as oregano, paprika, parsley and turmeric. Cheese is another favorite addition. Instead of seasoning, you can decide to marinate the ribs. The marinades are available in several versions like homemade marinades and commercial marinades which are sold in stores.

The ribs that have gone through the marinating stage are very tender. Marinated ribs are very tasty, tender and juicy due to the moisturizing effect of the marinade. Your marinade may be made of a single component or several components or you might settle for a salad dressing. Once you have made your choice of the marinade or seasoned your ribs, you can then have the ribs placed in the baking pan or dish. Before the ribs go into the pan or dish for baking, have it lain with some aluminum heavy duty foil. Have a big foil such that it can fit in the ribs and be folded back to cover the same. Into the pan, put in some water maybe 1.4 of an inch so that your ribs remain moist throughout the baking process. The water will also go soft on the pan and the foil. At this point, you can add some vegetable such as potatoes, onions and carrots so that they surround the ribs.

After this, have the edges of the foil closed up in the form of a tent so that they cover the ribs. Have the oven at 325 degrees and cook the ribs for 1 hour and then remove them and set the oven to 375 degrees for a further 15 minutes of cooking.
