Throughout human history, one of the oldest grains that are known to man has to be wheat. The bulgur or Bulgar type of wheat is the most ancient wheat variant as can be seen in recorded history. The Bulgar wheat is prepared from whole wheat kernels that have been soaked and then cooked. After this process has been completed, the wheat is then given time to dry up. Once the wheat dries up completely, some part of the bran is removed and then all the remaining parts are crushed into smaller particles. Essentially, this is the process that one uses to come up with Bulgar. After this, try and learn a few tricks on how to cook Bulgar wheat so that your family members as well as friends can enjoy some of the delicious dishes associated with Bulgar wheat.

Salads and soups are some of the most common dishes that make use of Bulgar wheat. Some bread is also made using Bulgar wheat. In other parts of the world, Bulgar wheat is used in the making of desserts as well as serving as a type of soup thickener for several meat dishes and soups. This wheat variant can be used as an alternative to rice in dishes that you might have wanted to serve with rice as well as a good extender. One distinguishing facto of the Bulgar wheat is that its nutrients level is at par with whole wheat if not more. The Bulgar wheat is also capable of absorbing water that is two times its own volume. For this recipe to be undertaken successfully, you will need some ingredients such as these: 2 medium diced tomatoes, 1 cup fresh parsley chopped, 1 chopped summer squash or cucumber, 1/2 cup cooked chick peas- optional, ? cup coarsely grated carrot- optional, 1 chopped green pepper- optional, 1 heaped teaspoon of fresh crushed garlic, 1/2 teaspoon dried mint, 1/4 cup olive oil, Fresh black pepper, 1/2 cup chopped scallions with the green part, 1 cup dry Bulgur Wheat, 1 1/2 cup boiling water, 1 1/2 teaspoon salt,1/4 cup fresh lemon juice.

You can even use this recipe as your everyday guidein your preparation of Bulgar wheat. These are the steps to do this. Start off by taking a big bowl and mixing the boiling water, salt and Bulgar wheat therein. Cover up the bowl and leave the wheat to soak up water for some 20 or so minutes. After the twenty minutes are over, add the garlic, mint, lemon juice and the oil. These ingredients should be mixed up thoroughly be being placed into the refrigerator for a period of 3 hours or even overnight. After refrigeration, serve the mixture with vegetables or black pepper.
