Getting your website to rank at the top of Google is something that almost any webmaster aspires to. Not only is it something that is worked on regularly, it is also the subject of debate in many instances. Although it certainly is possible to rank well in Google for certain key phrases, the holy grail of search engine rankings which will bring thousands of people to your website every day may be a little bit out of the ordinary person s reach. Of course, there are always ways to skirt the issues but is it a good idea to tamper with this?
The type of search engine optimization that you are doing is typically ranked as being one of three different types. White hat marketing is squeaky clean and you try to do everything by the book, according to Google s rules. Black hat marketing is quite the opposite and many individuals swear by this process, although it does carry some risk with it. In between these two, there is something that is known as gray hat marketing and regardless of what people may think about their own marketing styles, this is the area where they usually fall.
It is difficult to do everything by the book and to rank against people who may be bending the rules from time to time. I m not necessarily saying that it is impossible and there is a lot to be said for obtaining your rankings within the scope of googles guidelines, but there may also be a shortcut or two out there that is too tempting to pass up.

Getting links to your website is one of the best ways for you to rank better in the search engines and as a matter of fact, it is a good idea for you to continually work on this project. The problem is, it can be difficult to get people to link to your webpage without any reciprocation on your part. Reciprocal links, quite simply, do not hold the same amount of weight with Google as they did at one time. One way links into your website are now the rule.
These various link networks that are leaning towards black hat but more in the area of gray hat are ways for you to be able to skirt the issue of back links to a certain extent. They give you the opportunity to use a network of websites that will provide you with links into your website on an ongoing basis. They do their best in order to make sure that these links seem natural but at times, they may be a bit unnatural.
Ultimately, it is going to be your decision whether you are going to employ the use of these linking services or not. Doing so may help you to rank better and receive a lot of traffic but overdoing it may hurt you in the long run. Make sure that you are informed about all of the options that are available to you before making your decision.
