When you ve been through a break up, your focus may be a bit cloudy. You may seem to be thinking only about the unpleasantness of the break up. Although you know that you have other things that you need to be thinking about, your thoughts of the break up is the only thing you seem to think about. Here are 3 tips to help you remain focus after a break up.
1. Make a Journal
Write all of your goals in a journal and keep it nearby. Record the instructions of how you re going to reach those goals. You may find yourself adding more goals at a later time because as you regain your focus you may have new desires for your life. You may also realize that some of the goals you ve already started but was interrupted because of the break up.
2. Have Confidence in Yourself
You must believe that you can accomplish those things that you wrote in your journal. Low esteem will cause you to doubt your potentials of accomplishing your goals. Every time that you experience a doubtful thought , read your journal and begin to think about reaching your goals. You have to be your own cheerleader. Cheering yourself on to victory!
3. Take Time To Exercise
Exercise will clear your mind and will energize you. Try walking or breathing exercises where you inhale and exhale through your nose keeping your mouth closed. The breath should be short but of equal duration. I like to walk when I want to clear my mind. I think about things that I am thankful for while I m walking and before I know it my thoughts are no longer on unpleasant events.
4. Expect Good Things
When you re wounded you begin to think that everyone and everything is against you. It may be difficult to maintain a positive mood. Make a commitment to yourself that you will expect good things to happen. Each day remind yourself that you are expecting good things to happen.
5. Don t Guard Your Heart to Closely
Leave the door of your heart open to receive the good things that awaits you. Don t guard your heart too closely because you may reject love coming from other directions. A wounded heart can cause you to retreat and shut down. You would be able to confront the situation with a positive attitude although your emotions may feel quite negative.
It may be difficult but if you apply these helpful tips you will soon begin to realize that you are closer to reaching your goal if regaining your focus.
If you re still having a problem with being focused it could be because you want your ex back. You are constantly thinking about how things were when you with your ex and also how things could be if you were back with your ex. You may not know how to start the reconciliation process.
