Paramount Films circulated their Justin Bieber documentary flick entitled, "Never Say Never" into theaters last week. I just watched it, and thought it was pretty attention-grabbing because it showcased a more inside look,"behind the scenes," look at the star's rise to celebrity, and how he maintains his regular success.
It stars, of course,Justin Bieber, however it also featured appearances from Miley Cyrus, his mentor Usher,Jayden Smith,Boys II Men,Sean Kingston, and rapper Ludacris. The film revolved around, and showed scenes from Justin's past, along with more recent video footage of his concert tours. It also pointed out just how much work this young 16 year old has dedicated to his career over a rather fast period of time.
I primarily liked when they featured scenes of him performing at talent shows before he became famous. It presented the diverse collection of songs and genres that he can actually sing. It also featured video footage of him going back to his hometown after he got widely known, and still hung out with his same old friends like every normal teenager.
The fick was notably interesting when it revealed how he was found on Youtube. He and his mother would put clips of him singing up on Youtube, and they would get a ton of hits. His present manager Scooter Braun discovered him on there, and got him talking to some people in the music business. Shortly after that,he was singing for Usher.
However, the movie showed how Justin got rejected by plenty of labels before he could get signed. It wasn't until he sung for Usher and won him over, that things began to look up. From that point, Usher introduced him to producer LA Reid and he impressed him.
Then it featured footage of how Justin had to delay for a while before he could start making his 1st album. When he finally made tracks for the album, he would go to every radio station in the United States of America to sing for them. He impressed them, and the moment his popularity started to rise from all the promotion, they started to play his songs more often.
It showed video clips of all the shows he performs night after night, which eventually results in hundreds of shows. He ended up having to take a rest and cancel a few events because he wore out his throat. It displayed him performing different shows with Boys II Men,Miley Cyrus,Ludacris,Sean Kingsten, and Jayden Smith.
I like how the movie capped off with Justin selling out his "Madison Square Garden" live concert in 22 minutes. It showed his big performance, and little Jayden Smith joined in with a rap. Then Justin ended it,performing his hit song entitled, "Baby."
I liked the documentary. It delivered what I thought it would, which was an excellent,in-depth look at Justin before he became famous, and a ton of "behind the scenes" footage clips of his concert and personal life. Those types of documentaries are all quite often fairly interesting for me,particularly when it's a big superstar.
It sort of reminded me of those "E! True Hollywood Story" episodes, accept he's probably one of the youngest ones. I gave the movie a solid A rating.
