As a hypnotherapist it is not really rare for us to get to assist people, who need to have help with stress and panic, several clients had been managing stress their entire life sometimes not even conscious that it really is overwhelming to their system. People have grown comfortable to live life having a continuous build up of stress and anxiety, muscle tension and the chance of anxiety and stress related complications.

Sadly, people seldom invest time to release their stress and devote some time by themselves, take time or create the time to just let go their worries and the accumulated stress from regularly responsibilities. Between working, caring for their kids, paying your bills for some, relaxing happens seated in front of the tv enjoying violent and stressful shows that keep us on the edge of our seats and full of adrenaline and tensions. Never shutting down, sleep does not even count as the heighten tensions and adrenal level prevents any kind of meaning full relaxation before morning hits. People are inclined to train themselves to work through the stress rather then working away at setting up a stress reduction routine. Some end up receiving high blood pressure levels others with chest pain, ulcers, back problems; the list goes on.

What is there to do?
Well as hypnotherapist we teach clients how to deal with these issues and allow me to share 3 simple tricks you could start using right now to begin the whole process of letting go.

Set aside some time to relax: Each day make the effort to internalize your thoughts and feelings. Select a place where one can settle back for a few minutes 10-20 minutes more if you wish. A cozy place that isn't your bed is always best as your mind will not think your there to sleep and you'll focus more quickly.

Visualize: Spend a while to feel the stress, the anxiety and imagine that it has a form, give it a colour and imagine it in the body, then imagine it disappearing a lot more, you can imagine a strong bright light coming from the top of your head and cleaning the stress from your very own body as the light moves through it. As you make this happen, take it easy the various parts of your body as you imagine the stress being cleansed away. Numerous people do that by putting tension in that part of the body and to release it entirely as you release the stress. Imagine the "stress colour" being washed away as you do this. Once you are done, imagine a place where one can take it easy fully and completely, perhaps a place you are already before or a place you would like to be, real or imagined. Repeat the process.

Improve your perspective: This one could be the long-term element of this method. Take a sheet of paper and take note of what you presently do to tackle your stress, make a list of those things, forget about them and burn the list! If you happen to be feeling the way described above, nothing you had been doing has been helping so instead do this. When something takes place which you have no control over, let it go!

A friend of mine lost a bag of food on her way home recently it was worth $12.13 and was filled with such thinggs as toothpaste, a magazine etc once she noticed that she had lost it she started saying things just like, "oh god what am I going to do", bearing in mind that she did not have money problems and that the $12.13 was trivial yet it still got her to stress out as we were on our way back to the shop to see if we had forgotten the bag there. It took about 10 minutes to get back to the shop and I mentioned how, the $12.13 was not the end of her and how the worse that could happen was already done an over with, not having the bag.

She would agree with me but then try to look for a reason to validate her stress getting worse as we got closer to the shop. From blaming herself to blaming the employees at the shop her mind was looking for something to do with the stress, a direction to go, up seemed to be the direction of choice as this is what she was used to do.

As we got to the shop she started out looking in the car as I went inside to ask about the missing prize! When I came out, she was completely relaxed and immediately told me it was fine that she had found it.

Now why is it that we do that? Because we have done it so much that it is set on autopilot! Next time something like that happen think for a second, is it from your very own control? Is your stress going to make you better ready to fix the situation? If the answer is no, create the decision to breath in, breath out and let it go. Does it stop being unfortunate you lost the bag? No but knowing there is nothing that you will be able to do with stress that will fix the situation will be enough to help you realize that you can let go. Stress is the signal to tell you to act whenever you want to, knowing this, it's okay to let it go when it will not be useful. $12.13 isn't a life or death predicament.

So unwind, visualize and police damaging feelings and you'll get slowly but surely better. When you need to have more direction get in touch with your friendly local community Hypnotherapist.
