...WHY, 50 YEARS AGO, ORANGES HAD 8 TIMES MORE IRON & 5 TIMES MORE VITAMIN A
...AND WHY TOMATOES WERE JUICY AND SWEET AND HAD MORE FLAVENOIDS THAN THEY DO NOW
...AND HOW YOU CAN GET FRUIT AND VEGGIES THAT MAY BE SWEETER AND MORE NUTRITIOUS THAN THEY WERE 50 YEARS AGO!
You might sometimes wonder why the tomatoes and other produce from the supermarket just don't taste like you remember them tasting from Grandma's garden when you were a kid. The tomatoes were juicy...sweet. The strawberries softly firm and full of flavor not like the pithy, tasteless ones you get at the grocery store today! You likely already know that our soils have been depleted by 50 years of commercial farming.
Not that farmers did it on purpose. They just bought the fertilizers that made the fields produce lots of food. They were trying to feed their families too. They probably didn't know, at first anyway, that these chemicals would strip the soil of organic matter, but they did initially at least see bigger crops and bigger profits.
Companies like Monsanto and ArcherDanielsMidlands (ADM) built massive fortunes converting oil byproducts into chemical fertilizer and selling them to the unsuspecting farmer. After all, the US Government had approved these products. One excuse we've heard for years for using these chemicals is, "If we grow food without them, how will we feed the burgeoning world population?" Another is that we're living longer than ever before, so what harm is being caused by chemicals.
The logical answer to that question may be, "Yes, but are we living better and healthier lives?" Childhood obesity and poor health are at epidemic proportions, and our chemicalladen foods may very well be a major cause. IF YOU COULD NATURALLY GROW AS MUCH OR MORE FOOD THAT TASTED AS SWEET AND JUICY (OR BETTER) THAN WHAT GREW IN GRANDMA'S GARDEN, WOULD YOU DO IT?
To start with, we need to understand PHOTOSYNTHESIS. If you already are familiar with this process, you can skip the rest of this page and the next. However, after this simple explanation of photosynthesis, within a couple pages, you'll understand just how explosive this report is!
The process of photosynthesis is the process by which a plant converts carbon dioxide and the energy from the sun and some other components into SUGAR which is a plant's food. SO, THAT'S HOW PHOTOSYNTHESIS WORKS BUT HOW WILL KNOWING THIS HELP YOU GET SWEETER AND MORE NUTRITIOUS FRUITS AND VEGGIES FROM YOUR GARDEN?
First, when we deplete our soil, it stands to reason that our food supply will dwindle. As the soil becomes unfarmable, plant life will decrease, and oxygen will be reduced. Finally, the nutritional value of food grown in depleted soil will be almost nonexistent. It seems pretty obvious that chemicals are bad for the soil and our lives, so doesn't it make sense to "go organic?"
THE BAD NEWS
First, the Good News about the Bad News is that it's not too difficult to fix. Here it is Compost and Manure are good, but they won't give your plant everything it needs to thrive. I know that may seem heretical, but here's why it's not... A plant can only absorb so much from the soil and the air. A plant's hereditary factors, just like you, determine how tall it grows, how many nutrients it can absorb, or how much fruit it produces...until now!!!
THE GREAT NEWS!!!
A revolutionary new product, a leaf spray formulated from 100% natural marine and land plant extracts, has just become available in limited quantities in the US for the first time. This spray has been formulated to naturally stimulate any plant's natural growth hormones. When plants are sprayed with this leaf spray, it excites the hormones in the plants to reach out and grab more energy from the sun and CO? which ultimately is converted to plant sugar. Plant sugar, as we have seen in photosynthesis, is the basis for everything from the strength of the stalk to the health of the leaves to the quantity of blooms on a plant or tree to the sweetness of the fruit or vegetables the plant produces.
And, with more sugar, plants will produce more blooms, bigger fruit or veggies, and more prolific flowers. It also dramatically increases the flavor, sweetness, and nutrition in fruit and vegetable plants. We tested this product this year in our own gardens, and coupled with the information and studies and testimonials from other commercial growers, we're not just a little impressed. We're a LOT impressed! While this product isn't certified organic yet, the ingredients are 100% natural and plantbased and will be certified organic soon in the US. This leaf spray will boost flavor, nutrition, and quantity of your favorite fruits & veggies.
