The main objective for applying makeup is to accentuate your most attractive facial features. Makeup should be subtle this is sometime referred to as day makeup; however depending on what type of event that you are attending you may want to spruce it up just a little bit more than usual. Similar to night makeup for occasions such as weddings and proms and elaborate events. The importance of applying makeup is to highlight your best look. Let's start with foundations, which are usually the hardest of the makeups to choose. You may want to start out with two or three foundation colors that are closest to your skin tone. Next apply each foundation by making a small dapple on your cheek. The color that appears to have disappeared on your face is the correct color for your skin tone. Foundation should look as natural as your skin color. Over the years of applying professional makeup and talking with my clients I've noticed a trend of twoimportant steps in applying makeup that a lot of women tend to leave out. The first step that is left out often times is a concealer. A concealer is used if you have blemishes, skin discoloration and under eye darkness. If you have any of these skin discolorations you want to use a concealer, it does just what it says.. it conceals these areas to even out your skin color. Oneimperative note when choosing a concealer make sure the concealer is 2 to 3 shades lighter than you are normal skin color. Now you have prepared the canvas for foundation. After applying foundation the next crucial step is applying your powder. Facial powder then sets the concealer and the foundation so that you have a flawless gorgeous look all day long. Keep in mind your powder should be two shades darker than your natural skin color.
Next will be cheek color known as blush. Blush should be applied beneath the cheekbone it gives a natural looking glow to your face as it highlights the facial contours. Lip color is also very essential and should highlight the natural shape of your lips. Then apply a lip liner that is one or two shades darker than your natural lip color. Once you've apply your lip color you want to outline. And blend, this helps to define the lips and also helps the lipstick to stay on longer.
This is the fun part, eye shadow thefantastic world of eye color. They come in so many different shades and finishes to include metallic finishes, matte, frosted and even shimmering finishes. Eye shadows should complement the eyes. Take into consideration your eye color, hair color, and your skin tone; however matching eye shadow to your eye color, creates a flat field of color: and should generally be avoided. The general rule is a darker shade of eye color makes the natural color of the iris appear lighter, when a lighter shade makes the iris appear deeper. Using eyeliners and mascara puts thedefinitive touches on your makeup. Don't be afraid to experiment with different colors and finishes. Brushes are also very important when applying makeup. I'll be talking about the different brushes and their uses in an upcoming article. To help with a more enjoyablemakeup experience use top quality makeup.
