Games for teens is an absolute necessity to keep them engaged and mentally stimulated, while burning off excess energy. Since teenagers get bored easily, you ll want to provide plenty of games and activities to channel hormonal energy. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
EGG TOSS
Everyone pairs up and each pair is given an egg (raw is more fun than boiled). The goal is to toss the egg to their partner and their partner tries to catch it without breaking it. If they succeed, each person takes a step backwards. The egg toss continues until someone is out. The winners keep having playoffs until only one person remains, who is the ultimate winner.
BALLOON STOMP
Tie a 2 string to a balloon and then tie one balloon to each person s ankle. Everyone tries to break the other guests balloons by stomping at them. Whoever is the last person with an unpopped balloon is the winner.
TOILET PAPER CLOTHING
Divide everyone into pairs and give them rolls of TP and tape. Have them make TP clothing for one another like head pieces, trains on a dress, vest, tie, etc. When everyone is done, have a fashion show, along with a panel of judges to crown the winner(s).
When determining which games for teens to include, you ll want to be sure to consider a water related game. It s the kind of thing that creates an instant love/hate relationship. They love the idea of inflicting wetness on their opponents, and hate the thought of getting wet themselves.
BLIND WATER BALLOON VOLLEYBALL
Create a net by attaching opaque shower curtains to a volleyball net. Be sure teams can t see one another. Divide guests into two teams. Give each team the same number of water balloons as there are players. Each team throws their balloons over the net with the hope of breaking them on someone. Meanwhile, everyone tries to catch the flying water balloons to avoid breakage and throw them back at their opponents. Whichever team breaks the most balloons on the other team are the winners.
WATER BALLOON TOSS
Fill balloons with water prior to party. Allow 4 5 per person. Divide everyone into pairs. Have partners toss back and forth until one person is eliminated. Continue to pair up until one person remains who is the winner. For an added challenge put a little vegetable oil on the balloons and proceed with the game.
ICE CUBE MELT
Set out bowls of ice cubes. On Go, everyone grabs a cube and proceeds to melt it without placing it in their mouth. Whoever melts the cube first wins. You will find out who the brave ones are as they endure freezing temperatures against their bodies.
After a few lively games for teens, if you want to simmer them down and lasso them in, then select a game that requires them to all sit down collectively.
TRUTH IS STRANGER THAN FICTION
Get some tabloids and look for crazy headlines. Write one on individual index cards. Then make up a crazy headline and write it on the other half of each card. Divide guests into two teams. Team #1 draws a card and reads the two headlines to Team #2, who must decide which headline is the truth. Play continues and goes back and forth between the teams. Whoever has the most points, wins.
GARLIC CHOCOLATE
Place a piece of raw garlic clove in an ice cube tray. Use a 1 to 5 ratio. For example, 10 kids = 2 garlic chocolates. Place Macademia nuts in remaining compartments. Pour melted chocolate over them and ensure they are well covered, so no one will detect their contents. Have everyone take a piece of chocolate and bite into it simultaneously. The object of the game is to guess who is eating the garlic. If the persons with the garlic chocolate are able to conceal the fact they ate garlic chocolate, they win.
Have a fantabulous day and enjoy playing your games for teens!
