It's a plane, and believe it or not, it's a painting. In the 1970s, photorealism became really popular and the Kansas University Art Museum is showcasing it today. You might not know what is pigment and what is celluloid in this case.
This is a style of painting that calls for photographs acting as working mediums. Basically, a painter paints the image in the photograph onto a blank canvass. There was a leading aviation and aerospace attorney and his friend who came up with an exhibit for the works of 22 artists. The exhibit showcased a tremendous amount of work.
