The usual case is that you are unhappy with the factory speakers that your car came with. In such cases you would need to replace your car’s audio speakers for new and more appropriate ones. Also, sometimes the speakers that are already fitted are irreparable and so you need to replace those as well for new ones. In either case, for replacing speakers in your car you would obviously have to remove the older ones and only then can you install the new ones that you want. Actually, the removal of speakers from your car should not take you time at all and is a fairly easy job and can be done by you at home using a few easily available tools, you do not need professional help for this kind of a simple job.

Before you start off with any kind of procedure in the removal of the speakers you first need to make sure that the battery is not in charge and that all electrical supply sources are disconnected so that your safety during the procedure is ensured. You could very simply disconnect the cables from the battery terminal of your car so that you can be sure of the safety of the procedure.

Most speaker sets for the car audio system come in a set of four, one for each door, so you would have to start off by removing the speakers from the door paneling carefully. You would need a flatheaded screwdriver so that you can open up any kind of switch panel that might be built in the indoor panel. You would need to disconnect the wiring that is present there and then keep away the switch panels for the time being. Your basic necessity now is to remove the door paneling. For this you might need to screw open several trim pieces that may be attached to the inside of the door that could include an armrest and other screws. You will need to remove all this and open up the door panel.

After this is done, now you will have to start prying open the speakers from the door panel, for which you would have to work your way through every screw that attaches the speaker to the door panel and the same goes for all the four speakers inside the car. After you have pulled out the speaker you should disconnect the wiring that attaches the speaker to the car.

However, there are also those kinds of speakers that are mounted on the front or the rear of the vehicle and in these cases you would have to first remove the grille form the front of the speaker before you can disconnect it. Your prying tool and a screw driver will come in handy in such a case as well. However, the procedure that you followed for removing the speakers from the door paneling should be followed here as well for removing the speakers once the grille from front is removed.
