Planning a party, reunion, baby shower or an event as large as a wedding all start with the invitations. Whether they're for a wedding, a child's birthday, an office event or a family reunion, invites are an integral part of the celebration's theme. Invitations are the one of the first things guests will see and will hopefully get them excited for the upcoming event. Many times invitations can either motivate the guest and encourage them to attend, or they can deter the guest from responding quickly or even showing up. Invitations are definitely difficult to create, and can be boring and tedious. However, they don't have to be! It can be a fun process and even give you some ideas for the party. Here are 3 tips to put some fun into creating invitations for your guest list:
1. Dress up your invitations: You can easily add theme-designed papers inside your invitation just to "dress" it up a little bit. Match certain colors and styles to the envelopes. Or use colors that go with the theme you're using. For example, if you're having a tropical-themed shindig, use green, yellow and blue colored paper to set the tone for this outdoorsy event! Or if you're planning a baby shower for a little boy or girl, use baby blue or pink colors to celebrate the new arrival!
2. Take it to the web: Have your invitations direct your guest to an informative webpage with all the details of the party, information on the bride and groom if it's a wedding, life story if for a birthday party, etc. This is also a great place to send them for access to gift registries, directions to the party's location, bridal party details and more. And, especially if it's for a wedding, including a guest book for invitees to wish the bride and groom happiness is an excellent idea. You can also set up an auto responder so guests can RSVP with a simple mouse click. After the party or wedding, you can change the information to include a write up of the event as well as photos for all guests to come back to and enjoy. For a wedding, the couple may also find it especially sentimental to go back and look at well wishes and congratulations from wedding attendees.
3. Make it useful: Send your invitations out with something useful with it such as a refrigerator magnet with a photo of the guest of honor, or send your invitation in a small frame - they can later use the frame for a photo taken at the event! Invites can also include inspiring items like seed packets or fake flower petals for a floral-themed event or a meaningful love poem for a wedding.
Hopefully you will find one of these tips (or all 3) useful or at the least find them inspiring enough to begin thinking about creating your invites. Your guests will definitely love getting interesting invitations, so call on your muse and get those creative juices flowing. Your invitations need to be inspired and original and encourage guests to RSVP quickly.
