You think it’s the right time to marry the person you love. You have both decided to tie the knot and make things official. It’s finally time to make your dream of having an Italian Style wedding a reality. You’ve been thinking of having this traditional Italian Style Wedding ever since and now you would finally get to do what you’ve long dreamed of doing. I know you already have a clear picture of what you want inside your head.
You pretty much know what you want but let me tell you that I could offer some pretty good suggestions too. Did that get your attention? I’m no expert when it comes to planning weddings but I do know what I want and got it when I got married on this beautiful town off the Amalfi Coast in Italy. I’m telling you that we really enjoyed the occasion. It’s one important event in our lives that we will cherish forever.
The coastal town I’m speaking of is a small town called Positano. Let me tell you why we chose this place. First off, we really wanted to have an Italian Style Wedding. We didn’t want to do an Italian style wedding in the states. We wanted it to be in Italy for it to be authentic. So, we did some research, talked to some people and found out about this beautiful town on the Amalfi Coast.
I would say that of all the equally beautiful coastal towns in Amalfi, there was just something that prompted us to decide that having a Positano Wedding was what we wanted. It was the most romantic and picturesque place to us. The place looked just perfect. It had the entire feel of being inside a scene from a fairytale. Positano had everything we were looking for.
The entire town was constructed cascading down the hillsides of Positano in such a way that it seemed like it was flowing out into the turquoise beauty that was the sea. The houses were entirely white and they looked like giant canvasses for the colorful flowers that decorated everybody’s garden. Their ancient structures such as their church and town hall have been preserved and well kept through generations.
It wasn’t really hard for us to decide to get married in Positano. I think the hardest part in planning the wedding would be the paperwork to make the wedding legal. We didn’t want it to be a symbolic wedding; we wanted to have an Italian Wedding license. We had to call every government agency and complete a checklist for what we wanted to do.
It’s a good thing we didn’t have that much trouble in planning the details for the ceremony and the reception. There are a lot of reputable wedding planners and coordinators in Amalfi. It’s no surprise since Amalfi has long been considered one of the prime wedding destinations in Italy.
Our wedding was done on the huge terrace of the local town hall. We were told that this is where most of the legal marriages are done. It had a magnificent view of the sea and the place had been decorated according to our specifications. It just added more romance to the occasion. We think that it’s one of the things that made our Amalfi coast wedding perfect!
Our Reception was done at the luxurious Hotel Les Sirenuse. If you intend to have a more intimate time to celebrate by yourselves, there is a huge selection of specialty restaurants all over the place. They serve wine and traditional Italian dishes cooked fresh for your Amalfi Wedding celebration. Their seafood specialties are a must try.
