Before my wife and I decided to get married we shared what most people would call a whirlwind love affair. I’ve been married once. I thought I’d never fall in love again after I had a divorce. Before I met her, I was taking my time and tried to recover from my first marriage that didn’t quite go as I expected it to be. It took a while for me to get myself back on track again and when I met her, I realized that I deserved a second chance. I owe it to myself and I deserve to be happy.
Who wouldn’t fall in love with somebody who’s young, beautiful, and intelligent and who shares a lot of things in common with you? She loved to travel as much as I did. She’s very open minded and is ready to grab every opportunity to be happy. There’s never a dull moment when we are together. For me, she was just perfect!
She was introduced to me by a common friend. The first time I saw her, I felt like a kid falling in love for the first time. I know you’d say it’s a funny thing for a grown up guy to say but believe me, it only took a couple of dates for me to realize that I found the right one. To make the long story short, I ended up proposing to her to which she said yes.
I wanted this marriage to be a lifelong one. I somehow knew deep in my heart that this one is for keeps. We both wanted to have a wedding that we would both cherish and remember for the rest of our lives together. We talked to some of our friends and we asked for ideas and suggestions for the perfect wedding venue.
They had a lot of very good suggestions but we decided to get married in this lovely place that we have been to on one of our many trips together. The place I’m talking about is in the Amalfi Coast in the land of amore, Italy. It’s quite easy to see why we decided to have a Positano Wedding. The place is just beautiful and is considered to be one of the premier wedding destinations in Italy.
Positano is one of the small coastal towns on the Amalfi Coast has been one of the favorite venues for lovers tying the knot. What’s so special about getting married in Positano? I could give you a hundred reasons why. I know a lot of couples who got married with an Italian style wedding theme. The sad part is; they had an Italian style wedding in the states, not in Italy.
We wanted our Italian style wedding to be authentic so we decided to have an Amalfi Coast wedding. If you haven’t been to Positano or anywhere in the Amalfi Coast, let me tell you that the place looks like something out of a storybook. The houses are built in such a way that they cling to the sides of the cliff. These houses are mostly white which acts as a perfect canvass painted with the colorful flowers that are endemic to the place.
Most Amalfi weddings are done in the local Town Hall. This is where most legal marriages take place. The town hall has a large terrace that offers a spectacular view of the sea. The terrace could be decorated according to your specifications and there’s no need to worry about the wedding details and reception arrangements to be made.
There are a lot of wedding planners and coordinators who would be more than happy to make your wedding wishes come true. There’s this fashion designer who helped out with my wife’s wedding gown which was just perfect. They are there to take care of even the smallest details like the wedding invitations and thank you cards.
The reception for our Amalfi Coast wedding was done at the luxurious Hotel Sirenuse. If you would opt to have a wedding dinner someplace else to continue the celebration, there are a lot of elegant restaurants that you could choose from. I have two words that would describe how the whole affair went. It was worry free!
Oh, did I tell you that the ceremony we had was private? Before we left for our destination wedding in Italy we told a couple of close friends about what our wedding plans were. “What do we tell everybody?” we were asked. We had a ready answer for that. “Tell everybody we got married in Positano, Italy.”
