It is indeed very difficult to cope up with extreme pregnancy nausea. When nausea and vomiting begins during pregnancy it is easy for a woman to feel sick and disgusted with being pregnant. Instead of enjoying their pregnancy, they start feeling low and depressed. Sometimes, the symptoms of extreme pregnancy nausea are so overwhelming that women often lose their cool. The symptoms might occur at any point of time during the day or night, although it is more common in the morning and that is why this condition is commonly known as morning sickness.

Although morning sickness isn’t medically harmful for the expecting mother or the child, it can be very difficult to cope with the condition. However, one factor that could be potentially weakening is that due to frequent vomiting women usually don’t feel like eating or drinking and may become easily dehydrated and this can become very serious. Being unable to eat during pregnancy together with vomiting and extreme pregnancy nausea is called Hypermesis gravidarum.

Hypermesis gravidarum is a medical condition that can be potentially harmful for the mother as well the baby. In fact, it could be even more dangerous if left untreated for a considerable period of time during pregnancy. An imbalance in the electrolyte and nutrients content in the body triggers various symptoms of the condition that worsens over time. It is very important to see a doctor as soon as the symptoms appear and seek the necessary help.

Morning Sickness and Nausea

There isn’t any difference between morning sickness and nausea during pregnancy. As the feeling usually develops in the morning it has been termed as morning sickness. Nevertheless, nausea, dizziness and an intense feeling of discomfort characterize it. The nausea and ill feeling caused during the condition may be related to hormone fluctuations occurring in the body during pregnancy. Many experts believe that morning sickness happens to be a very positive sign; it indicates the proper development of the placenta.

Expectant mothers often find it very difficult to cope up with the symptoms of morning sickness. Here are a few tips that you can follow that may reduce the chance of you experiencing an extreme nausea pregnancy:

The Do’s

& #61492;Have crackers or toast right after you wake up in the morning.
& #61492;Do not allow your stomach to stay empty.
& #61492;If there are any foods or odors that aggravate nausea, avoid them.
& #61492;Sleep well; your body and your mind need rest during pregnancy.
& #61492;Have ginger or lemons to relieve the symptoms.
& #61492;Salted potato chips can be extremely satisfying during your nausea.
& #61492;Relax and take it easy.
& #61492;Protein, protein and more protein especially for late night snacks.

The Don’ts

& #61492;Never skip your meals.
& #61492;Don’t lie down immediately after your meals.

It is extremely important to stay hydrated during your pregnancy. If you have excessive vomiting and nausea seek out your doctors advice quickly to avoid a potential issue with something more serious than a little morning sickness.
