Do you have one of your kids playing High School baseball, or Little League? Is your child able to hit the baseball the way you think they should be able to? So if you think they could be doing much better at batting, are you sure of the right way to show them how to hit correctly? Do you really want to be able to show them how to make contact with the baseball more often?
The first thing that they need to know and follow, is to always keep their eye on the ball. It may have been said and heard a thousand times before, but it is the single most important aspect of the game, if they want to hit the ball more. Sometimes the noise on and off the field can be enough to draw the batters attention, and stop them looking for the ball. Knowing what the pitcher is about to do is often a matter of making sure that your kids are always watching him or her. Tell them too, not to be afraid of the ball coming towards them, nor be afraid of the pitcher, who will sometimes try to intimidate the batter.
Making sure that your kids are centered well on the home plate is another way to ensure they get the best chance at hitting the baseball. Sometimes allowing your kids to see other kids miss the ball because they are not centered properly, is enough to change their ways. The ability to always stand in the correct position, is going to make a difference in every hit. When you and your kids are practising baseball; try this approach to see if it makes a big difference.
We all understand that it can be quite painful to continually watch your kid play baseball, knowing they can do a lot better, or when you want them to do better. Watching your kids continuously strike out at the plate is not an enjoyable thing for any parent. Rather than put yourself through that emotion all the time, teach them to hit the ball better. One option would be to hire an expensive personal baseball trainer, but a better option would be to be the one to train your kids to hit better.
It is a great start for you to understand how you can help your kids. There may come a day when your kids are playing at the World Series, and you can proudly say that you were at least partially responsible for getting them there.
This pride and glory is not to be compared with the pure enjoyment of knowing that your kids can now hit the ball when and how they should, to achieve the results they want for their team. Allowing a situation to continue where they are not happy about being struck out when they play baseball, will only eventually reduce the amount of interest they have in the game.
