New technology has been advancing very fast when it comes to home entertainment. The latest TV sets are in HD quality. This means that they look crystal clear and far more lifelike than standard televisions. They have also been getting bigger and flatter, it is not uncommon for people to have very large screens in multiple rooms now. In the next 5 to 10 years things will go one step further and we will all own 3-D TV screens.
All of our other home entertainment has also been given a facelift in recent times. HDMCI cables have been introduced which connect computers and laptops to the screen. This means it is now easy to download movies and play them on the screen. DVDs are a thing of the past and they will soon become obsolete.
The technology has also now being created to do away with most cables in the home. The HDMI cables will not be required as wireless technology makes it possible to send even HD movie files through the airwaves. Speakers also do not require cables thanks to this same technology.
Most homes will soon have a centralized hard drive which will contain all music, video and document files. These can then be accessed and played on any electric devices within the home. They will also need accessible through smart phones anywhere in the world with an Internet connection.
These things all take time to change but it is advisable for anybody that wants to purchase new home cinema equipment, to make sure that the devices will be compatible with future technology. The most important feature to look out for is wireless capability as cables will soon be obsolete.
The way we use our television screens is also changing. Because we have such high quality large TVs, we can now use these as windows to other places in the world. For example it will soon become completely normal to display art or video files of scenery from around the world. We will always have a use for real windows in the home, but paintings and other arts may become less common, because the large TV screens we have can take their place.
Files will soon be available for download which contain different pieces of art. There will also be files from scenery such as rainforests or beaches. These will be non-invasive and used simply to set the mood. Another option for these screens is to play a virtual fireplace download. These fireplace videos can be set to loop and create a cozy atmosphere in the room. Of course they will not give off heat like the real thing but they are a very cheap alternative to a real log fire. Of course there will be other options too such as virtual aquariums which can all easily be downloaded online
