It would appear that Hollywood sweethearts Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are still going strong, following reports that he treated her to a gorgeous leather jacket while shopping in California at the weekend.
The two were spotted indulging in some retail therapy at American Vintage in LA, a favourite haunt for many A-listers and fashion bods alike. Retail assistants have reported that the pair left with a stunning, dark grey, retro leather jacket for her and two checked shirts for him - all paid for by Robert, of course.
The two first met during auditions for Twilight, the smash hit film that would eventually rocket them both into international stardom, and have reportedly been dating ever since.
However, Kristen was alleged to be furious at Robert recently, following rumours her man would take the starring role alongside gorgeous actress Keira Knightley in his next Hollywood blockbuster, Cosmopolis. Robert, who is set to play the romantic interest of the British stunner, foolishly admitted to having had a crush on newly-single Keira during her early acting career, and reports have suggested that poor Kirsten has been incredibly jealous ever since.
Further rumours flew after the pair were absent from the 83rd Academy Awards, despite the fact that both were known to be in LA at the time. While the couple are known for shying away from the limelight, keeping public displays of affection to an absolute minimum, many commentators thought it strange that the two would choose to opt out of such a prestigious event.
Now, however, it would seem Kirsten is more than pleased, if not pacified, by her new jacket, wearing it everywhere she goes. And who can blame her - seen on the runway at London Fashion Week in the Autumn/Winter shows of designers such as Betty Jackson and Marc Jacobs, the leather jacket is tipped to be the must-wear item for 2011.
