I do not think there's anyone who doesn't like to munch on some well cooked barbeque ribs unless of course you are a vegetarian. Most of us have that special place that we frequent where we believe they barbeque the best ribs. This is primarily because most of us find it a big hassle to prepare delicious ribs at home. The reason behind this is the fact that most people do not have a clue on where to start off as a few restaurants keep this a closely guarded secret. Read on to discover some of these well guarded secrets. Initially, try and understand the ribs makeup as not all parts are actually edible. Most ribs have a membrane though in some cases, the butcher removes it, connective tissue and muscle. The connective tends to break down after some cooking while the meat will cook well but the membrane only gets tougher.

Begin by getting rid of the membrane from the ribs. Flip the ribs over and start off from the smaller end as the ribs have a larger end and some small end. Use a butter knife and rip off the membrane from the second rib. It is easily located by having the knife poke the top layer just between the bones. Take the butter knife and run it all the way to the end and then rip the membrane out. After, the membrane is out, we cook ribs. The connective tissue still poses some problems as the temperature that it will comfortably cook off will be too high for the meat which might dry it off in the process. We overcome this problem by subjecting the ribs to braising or any other technique that comes close to this softening technique. Braising is simply using liquid to tenderize the ribs where extremely high temperatures are achievable without necessarily having to worry about moisture loses.

Boiling may be the first alternative that comes to your head but it has been found to add nil flavors on the ribs. Have your ribs wrapped up with an aluminum foil and then incorporate some spices and seasonings. You might be tempted to add some water to this package, but it is not really necessary as the meat will have enough fats and juices to braise well. The spices, seasonings and the fat combine to come up with a great flavor. The aluminum foil can be stacked with 5 to 6 racks or rib comfortably. Take a baking sheet and place the entire package in the sheet and then place in an oven that has been preheated to a temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit for one hour or so. After the hour is over, proceed to place the ribs in a grill for that final crispy finish. At this point, you can decide to brush the ribs with your favorite barbeque sauce. You have undertaken a course in how to cook ribs.
