Decorating your home when you need to use air beds in your house, whether for family members sleeping over, or that special guest that you want to make comfortable, can be a difficult thing to do. Let's face it, a lot of air beds are very unsightly. The color doesn't seem to match the carpet or the drapes, or anything for that matter! Let's go over a few things you can do in order to make that air bed or mattress somewhat sightly within your home.
First, having a nice fitting and colored sheet set is a great place to start. Nothing looks better than nice, clean sheets fitted nicely onto a mattress, whether that mattress is an air bed or not. Having a full color scheme for your air bed is also a great start. You want your sheets to match the blankets and other items you'll be using for when your guests stay over for the night. Mismatched sheets and blankets and pillow cases can look ghastly in some cases! We want to make sure to avoid those kind of situations. It could be embarrassing!
Another thing to keep in mind is: Where will you be putting this air bed for your guests to sleep on? Will it be in a living room? On the floor in another room? If you're keeping it in the living room, be sure to provide extra blankets for your guests in case they get cold or chilled. Sometimes air beds don't provide that little extra warmth that a normal box spring mattress has. Also keep in mind how firm your guests like their bed. Some people like a softer mattress, while others like them very firm. Take advantage of the adjustable settings of most air beds to give your guests a night they'll never forget.
When thinking the guests that might be staying over at your house or apartment, will they mind sleeping close to the floor? If not, then it would be wise to get a raised air bed that's farther away from the ground. Not all air beds are the same, some are bigger, smaller, closer to the ground, and raised higher like a normal sized box spring mattress. It could be much more comfortable for your guests if you give them something to sleep on that's more similar to a mattress that they are used to. Most of the time those are raised mattresses.
What kind of inflatable apparatus will you be using to inflate your air bed? There are dreadful manual devices that are more like an old bicycle pump and can take forever to pump up a full size air bed! Especially if it's a king or queen size! There are also battery operated air beds that are nice to use and great at efficient inflation. The fastest ones to inflate are usually the ones that plug into your standard AC volt plug in.
Overall air beds are a great investment for your guests, whether they stay over a lot, or only occasionally. You want go give them a great night's sleep, since sleep is so important!
