If you have become bored with fishing at the typical lakes and rivers that you've forever gone to with your colleagues, it would be a pleasant solution to start learning about deep sea fishing. The deep sea fishing locations are absolutely exciting. No land insight, except maybe for far away mountain ranges that will provide you the picturesque backdrop you need for your adventure. Apart from the spectacular location, the abilities that you need to acquire are inspire to learn, something new for someone who has tired of life's monotony. And as you go for the deep sea fishing, you are likely to find that biodiversity is such an fascinate thing that must be appreciated and cared for.
If you are fishing rivers, lakes and estuary's then you should be fine with a lighter fishing rod. Anyway if you are planning on going deep sea fishing then you will need to use a much stronger rod - one that will handle the weight of the fish and the time it takes reel it in. Most sea fishing rods are either made from graphite, or from fiberglass. Many anglers seem to agree that graphite is superior to fiberglass because it is both lighter, and more durable. Fiberglass rods are also used for deep sea fishing, and their greater flexibility means that they can also withstand the fight between a fisherman and a big fish. Though not as durable as graphite, therefore not as long lasting as graphite rods, fiberglass deep sea fishing rods will still last for an acceptable length of time.
So how do you find these fish in that big ocean. I suppose you could just follow some other boats about especially if they look experienced at it but maybe they won't be impressed if you do that. Instead we are going to find our own fish. If there sea birds feeding on small bait fish it probably means that there are larger fish underneath feeding too. If you are after snooks they are usually to be found near rocks or posts or reefs. Just watch out for snags fishing in these areas.
Basically, there are two types of deep sea fishing techniques - trolling and bottom fishing. The fishing technique is chosen, based on the location of the fish. Trolling techniques require keeping the fishing boat at a constant speed of six knots. The bait used is usually a fishing lure that is drawn on a line through the water slightly below the surface of the water.
If you fishing with someone who is practiced in the art of fishing, it is easy enough to know where to find the big catch. With a flock of seabirds as guides you can glimpse when a batch of fish is around. If the small fish is not what you are looking for, then this is only the beginning. Following this trail you will surely be able to jump into the action and encounter your prize catch yet. Also remember that when you go in deep sea for fishing, do not go alone. Never go alone! Take somebody with you, preferably someone who is experienced and knows everything about deep sea fishing for a great and enjoyable experience.
