Your bathroom is one of the smallest rooms in the house and yet if you choose to renovate the room it could well turn out to be one of the costliest rooms in the house to improve. With items such as a bath, basin, toilet and shower if you really want to make a statement of elegance then you should be prepared to spend quite a bit of money. This said it is possible to achieve some really great results without spending a fortune by simply making some simple cosmetic changes.
Usually a bathroom has very little floor space so it isn't that expensive to renew the flooring in your bathroom. Linoleum, tiles or wood flooring are popular in the bathroom and it is possible to get a great look by not spending too much cash. I would recommend getting a better quality wood flooring and ensuring that it is properly fitted and sealed as any water splashed onto it can damage it. Floor tiles can be cold on the feet but it is possible to fit an underfloor heating system that will warm the tiles and will not cost too much. A good quality linoleum is the usual choice for the bathroom as this is a very hard wearing product and probably the cheaper of the three options. All three options suggested are easy to fit by a competent DIY'er so you shouldn't have to employ a tradesman to do any work.
So if cash is tight but you want to re-invigorate your bathroom as well as make an impact on the look of the room perhaps you should consider changing the flooring.
